Boruto Otsutsuki - Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Chapter 11

Boruto Otsutsuki Rises In Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11 was a big chapter for many reasons, with one of them being Boruto Otsutsuki debut. That debut came with major developments for several cast members. In particular, it was Boruto’s former little sister, Himawari Uzumaki, who stood up against Jūra. Himawari was assisted by her brand new power up thanks to being the new Nine-Tailed Demon Fox’s Jinchūriki. Let’s take a look at the biggest takeaways from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11.

HIMAWARI UZUMAKI & SARADA UCHIHA NEED TRAINING ARC

Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto dedicated the first half Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11 showing he massive power up Himawari Uzumaki received as the new Nine-Tailed Demon Fox’s Jinchūriki. There’s an immediate payoff to Kurama stating that she has a greater compatibility with him as Himawari was able to heal Inojin Yamanaka fatal injuries without sharing her chakra with him like her father did during the Fourth Shinobi World War. We then see her put on an impressive display of power as she was able to pull off a Tailed Beast Ball in her first try and force Jura to use some effort in order to knock her out.

That said, ultimately Himawari was still new to using her Jinchuriki powers as she was defeated without so much leaving a scratch on Jura. Similarly, Sarada Uchiha had a lack of success against Hidari. While she appeared to injure the God Tree clone of her father, Hidari instantly healed and quickly defeated Sarada, Konohamaru Sarutobi, and Sumire Kakei in a mater of seconds.

All of this placed a big spotlight where both Himawari and Sarada currently stand. Kishimoto and Ikemoto are clearly positioning both Himawari and Sarada as lead characters. Because not only have they shown to have grown in power, they’ve had character covers for these early Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series. These are signs that there are big plans for both characters alongside Boruto and Kawaki.

Given the events we see go down in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11 this did highlight from a story standpoint Himawari and Sarada need to go through intense training. Even with the training they both did during the timeskip and Himawari’s new Jinchuriki status its not nearly enough to battle Jura and Hidari. Kishimoto and Ikemoto certainly could give Himawari and Sarada dedicated mentors, like Killer B and Kakashi, respectively, to fully tap into their potentials.

BORUTO OTSUTSUKI CONTINUES SUPERMAN RUN

Ultimately what Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11 proved is that as things stand right now the only one capable of fighting evenly against Jura and the God Trees is Boruto. We once again saw Boruto pull off his Superman routine that he’s been known for in Two Blue Vortex. He even took it to a new level by literally flying in to save Himawari from Jura in a Superman-esque way. Boruto followed that up by using the Flying Raijin Jutsu to save Sarada from being consumed by Hidari.

These save the day actions in quick succession emphasized that Boruto training during the timeskip was successful. He is meeting the moment of being the rogue hero who can make the last minute save. Without Naruto and Sasuke around Boruto’s abilities are needed now more than ever.

Which made the big hook ending standout even more. Because as soon as he sees him Hidari addresses Boruto as “Boruto Otsutsuki.” This is different from how Jura called him Boruto Uzumaki back in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5. Given that Hidari is Sasuke Uchiha’s God Tree clone this could have much more meaning. Hidari in this chapter showed confusion over the memories and desires he has. One of these memories from Sasuke could be that while on the run Boruto used Otsutsuki as his last name since they knew using the Uzumaki name was impossible with Omnipotence in effect.

In a much darker view is that the stronger Boruto grows the more he is viewed as an Otsutsuki Clan member. Boruto utilizing Momoshiki’s flying technique showed his growth in Kāma that he is even able to outpace Kawaki. This does create the question if Boruto Otsutsuki will be our lead characters permanent status quo if to much time has passed to undo the damage done by Omnipotence.
