Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 Duty

Boruto & Shikamaru Risk Their Futures In Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 was a major turning point chapter for the series. After all the chaos caused by the God Trees group the leadership of Konoha finally got some answers. Those answers came the way of a captured Boruto. Through this we got a lot of important developments that change the direction of many characters. While all these directions will end up converging into the greater Ten Tails threats how they get there is unknown. Let’s take a look a what wen down during Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14.

KONOHA LEARNS ABOUT GOD TREES

To open Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 Boruto found himself in chakra sealing cuffs being interrogated by Ibiki Morino and Konohamaru Sarutobi. While he was there to witness the interrogation there wasn’t much Shikamaru could do with Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane also watching. Given this situation Boruto had no choice other than answer the questions about his motives and the God Trees that Ibiki and Konohamaru asked.

This is where things got immediately interesting. It now became a test of how much Boruto was willing to reveal without causing Kawaki to force Ada to reset things with Omnipotence. The entire interrogation did show how far Boruto has come mentally. He was extremely careful with how he spoke about what he learned about the Ten Tails plot during his time on the run the last few years. Because on top of worrying about Kawaki resetting things he also had to figure out a way the Konoha leadership wouldn’t execute him on he spot because he was dodging to many questions.

With Boruto having to be careful about his answers he did reveal key details that Konoha’s leadership didn’t know. Specifically, he went into detail on how the God Trees who have gained sentience have goals to devouring specific people, like Sasuke and Moegi’s God Trees are targeting Sarada and Konohamaru, respectively. Along with that we learned new information that Jura, the God Trees leader, is a direct incarnation of the Ten Tails.

This is a big revelation if true as it throws out a lot of theories fans have had about Jura. With that it clarifies why Jura as the Ten Tails “child” is motivated to devour/kill Naruto Uzumaki was because of he was the hero who stopped his previous resurrection. That places Himawari Uzumaki in a dangerous spot as she is now Kurama’s current Jinchuriki. Not being able to find Naruto in his visit to Konoha, Jura could turn his attention to Himawari and Kurama as a way to absorb the Nine-Tails chakra and get to wherever Naruto is.

SHIKAMARU LOSING CONTROL AS HOKAGE

The interrogation of Boruto placed Shikamaru in an impossible position. He is one of the only ones that knows about Ada’s Omnipotence rebooting the timeline. Though because he doesn’t have the full details like Boruto and Koji he can’t confidently convince others about what happened. Even if he did reveal to his closest confidants the moment Shikamaru does that there is the danger that Kawaki would find out and have Ada reset things again, as he’s done several times during the Blank Period years. Then add in the provisional status of his Eight Hokage status quo and one wrong move would spell disaster for him and Boruto.

All of these factors made the decisions Shikamaru makes during Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 as important, if not more so, as Boruto. We see the immediate consequences as Ino Yamanaka straight up tells Shikamaru’s back anymore when it comes to Boruto after her son, Inojin Yamanaka, was almost killed by Jura.  No longer having one of his most trusted confidants following his risky decisions is a big blow. That’s in addition to his relationship with long-time Konoha advisors Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane is tense at best. It is all made worse with how Boruto ended up escaping.

With Shikamaru having to be even more careful so he can still help Boruto who he trusts moving forward will be even more important. Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 added an important ally in Mitsuki. Sarada and Sumire also have knowledge of the original timeline. There is also the possibility the Choji will help him out even with Ino no longer having his back.

This spot Shikamaru finds himself in opens the door for Sakura to finally step up. Sakura has been a background character at best. But now that it is known by Konoha’s leadership that Hidari is Sasuke’s God Tree is an easy way to elevate Sakura as a key player. It is about time Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto give Sakura some actual development. Sakura teaming up with Shikamaru and Sarada to save her husband is that opportunity.

MITSUKI CHOICE BETWEEN BORUTO & KAWAKI

Mitsuki Sun - Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 7

Possibly the most important decision that was made was from Mitsuki. We’ve known from Mitsuki’s introduction that because of his backstory it is important for him to have key relationship with someone who he calls his “Sun.” During Boruto: Naruto Next Generations that person was his best friend Boruto. Thanks to the changes made by Ada’s Omnipotence Mitsuki’s “Sun” changed from Boruto to Kawaki.

We saw right away when Two Blue Vortex started that Kawaki wasn’t up for filling that role as he doesn’t view Mitsuki as his best friend like Boruto did in the original timeline. We saw how the distance he has with Kawaki made him easily impacted by Boruto revealing to Mitsuki they were best friends in the original timeline. While he didn’t fully let it affect him during his confrontation with Boruto in chapter six and seven of the series there was a clear impact.

Now with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 we see that Mitsuki does buy into Boruto’s story to a point. While he doesn’t have the actual details of the Omnipotence reboot there is something deep within Mitsuki that made him want to help Boruto. He does just that as he was the one that secretly broke Boruto out of his chakra sealing cuffs by using others believing his killing intent when it comes to Boruto to make this secret move.

By doing this Mitsuki now becomes a major wildcard in the current storyline. Mitsuki has shown he has good acting skills with how he helped Boruto escape. He could very well use this acting skill to continue to convincingly act as Kawaki’s guard while helping out Boruto and Shikamaru.

All of these developments create a lot of unknowns on many characters in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Adding in the developments that Matsuri defeated Gaara and Shinki in order to turn Shinki into a new God Trees named Ryu the door has opened for the greater Naruto Universe to get involved in the story.

This could either mean that Boruto and Shikamaru will have more allies available to them or more enemies that will force them to be even more careful with their every move. It is probably a mix of both, all creating even more opportunities for future Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapters.
