I really liked Dini’s multi-part Hush story that recently appeared in Detective. The story ended with Hush defeated and penniless. So what does the villain do next? Attempt suicide. But he does not count on someone rescuing him and mistaking him for Bruce Wayne (in the previous storyline, he had platic surgery).

What better way for Hush to replenish his money other than to take Bruce’s? Using deception, he keeps taking money from various Wayne Industries divisions in different countries. The ending sets up a confrontation with Catwoman that should be interesting.

Dini has written a good pulp noir crime drama. This story could be one of the Hard Case Crime novels. I hope Hush continues to be handled only by Dini.

The art on Detective just does not match the standard set by the story. I would like to see a different artist on this series.

Recommended to fans of crime dramas.

  1. I did not like this story. To me, it does not make any sense…There is no way Hush could spend months impersonating Bruce and getting access to his riches without any of Bruce’s friends realizing someone is out there doing this. I think Dini underestimated the role Alfred or even Lucious play in running Bruce’s life. I think they would have picked up on this and someone was spending months accessing Bruce’s money.
