DC Comics July 2025 comic book solicitations are here! Based on these solicitations DC Comics is going to be heading into the next phase of their DC All In direction. That includes Superman vs Darkseid’s Legion of Super-Heroes, a new Justice League of Tomorrow forming, Titans vs Crime Syndicate, and much more. Let’s take a look at the biggest takeaways from DC Comics July 2025 solicitations.
HUSH 2 BECOMES BATMAN VS BAT-FAMILY…..ROUND INFINITE
As Hush 2 continues it appears that Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee are going to be relying on a lot of classic Batman storytelling. That is once again seen with part five of Hush 2 tapping into the tried and true Batman vs Bat-Family angle. This is an unsurprising thing given that Loeb is going back to the well rather than doing something new.
Going with Batman vs Bat-Family angle will be a real test if Loeb is actually adding to the mythology. Because not only have we seen this angle done plenty of times it was a main driving force behind the 2023 Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War crossover event.
So it has been less than two years that we saw the animosity between Batman and his Bat-Family be the direction the family took. It’ll be a real test if Loeb is just going with the same old, same old and has not evolved as a writer or if he is doing something new. Given Loeb’s time away as a comic book writer it is tough to judge.
It is something that if Loeb and his editor have decided then they will make sure its done right and not just a retread of what we saw during Gotham War and other similar stories. It be the best for Hush 2 to be able to match the high bar the original Hush storyline set.
THINGS HEATING UP IN THE ABSOLUTE UNIVERSE
There is never a dull month for the Absolute Universe. Every single Absolute Universe title in July looks to have some major development going on. Starting with Absolute Batman, we learn that Bane is already kicking off the Absolute Universe’s version of the Knightfall storyline. Though the bigger mystery seems to be about what Absolute Bane’s real form is as the one we saw in the recent issue of Absolute Batman may not be his true form.
Then over in Absolute Superman, it appears that Kal-El will be joining the Omega Men in order to combat Lazarus Corporation. The Omega Men will certainly do all they can to get Kal-El to join their ranks to change the tide of their war against the Lazarus Corporation. But given that the Lazarus Corporation’s leader Ra’s Al Ghul has all eyes set on claiming Absolute Superman for himself that will be easier said than done.
The other big development looks come from Absolute Green Lantern where Jo Mullein and Hal Jordan will be taking the fight to Abin Sur. It seems like Evergreen is going to be an important place for the Absolute Universe. The battle with Abin Sur could also dictate how Earth is positioned in the greater cosmic scope of the Absolute Universe.
Absolute Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Flash aren’t to be overlooked either. Each one of these titles will continue to challenge Diana Prince, Jon Jones, and Wally West in their own ways. These continuations will further help shape the Absolute Universe as it looks like we are getting closer to an eventual Incursion with the DC Universe.
SUPERMAN VS DARKSEID’S LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES
Speaking of Incursions, the stage is set for DC Comics July 2025 being the time where we see the next phase of the DC All In direction to begin. That all starts in Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora’s Superman #28 where the Man of Steel will come face-to-face with Darkseid’s Legion of Super-Heroes.
Up until now we’ve see that the Justice League and others have been doing their best to monitor when Darkseid would return. Superman being the first one not to travel to another universe to get witness what Darkseid has done is very intriguing. Especially considering Superman’s relations to the Legion of Super-Heroes. Seeing Darkseid control some of his greatest allies puts a lot of things into question.
This will also be important to re-establish the Legion of Super-Heroes. Thus far DC Comics has done a good job at building anticipation for what it means for Darkseid to control the Legion of Super-Heroes. Superman #28 will be one of the most important comics to DC All In for the direction to keep up its momentum.
It will also be interesting to see if there will be any connections made between what is going on over in Aquaman with Superman’s experience. It wouldn’t be surprising if Superman #28 also teases a crossover with Aquaman later in the year. That type of crossover could set-up the bigger direction with Darkseid in 2026.
TRINITY CREATE THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF TOMORROW
Superman and Aquaman aren’t the only ones dealing with the new crisis boiling up in the Multiverse. In the aftermath of the We Are Yesterday crossover, the Justice League are ramping up their efforts to dealing with cosmic threats. The first comes from dealing with the mysterious Quantum Quorum.
With this mysterious Quantum Quorum it will kick off the bigger Multiverse direction for the Justice League. Particularly, they will be expanding their Justice League Unlimited direction to assemble a Multiverse League. This new Multiverse Justice League will be a team of displaced Multiverse heroes that include Batman Beyond, Gold Beetle, and Helena Wayne.
The inclusion of Batman Beyond, Gold Beetle, and Helena Wayne is an interesting one as it has been addressed until the upcoming Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special that there are these time displaced heroes in the main DC Universe. It appears that we are going to be a Legends of Tomorrow from the Arrowverse type direction Batman Beyond, Gold Beetle, and Helena Wayne. Though given that this is a one-shot it does put into question if these Legends of Tomorrow that the Justice League Unlimited have assembled will survive their first mission as a team.
It also shows that the return of the Legion of Doom is going to have a bigger impact on the DC Universe. We are seeing that in response to the heroes being more united than ever under the Justice League Unlimited, that the villains are doing something similar. The Legion of Doom could end up spinning out their own sub-groups in the near future.
GOTHAM CITY SIRENS TAKE THEIR TALENTS COSMIC
DC Comics July 2025 solicitations showed that Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy’s ongoing comics will all be paused for the month. In their place will be the return of the Gotham City Sirens series. This time the trios title will be a weekly mini-series titled s of July. Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit by Leah Williams and Haining.
Based on what we learned about Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit it is certainly a comic book story that is expected from Williams. Because what attracts Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy to go on a cosmic adventure. Is it a big cosmic threat? A cosmic target that only they can heist?
Nope, it is a intergalactic nightclub that has them facing off against Despero. Now Despero is certainly a powerful villain. Possibly the strongest villain the Gotham City Sirens have had to fight together.
What’ll be interesting is what impact, if any, this weekly mini-series will have on Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy ongoing series. Afterall, it doesn’t seem like DC Comics saw them able to carry a monthly team series along with their individual solo series.
As shown in the March 2025 sales rankings, Poison Ivy has been all over the place with its month-to-month rankings while Harley Quinn and Catwoman’s titles struggle to break the Top 100. So this new Gotham City Sirens weekly mini-series may be a test by DC Comics to see if the trio would sell better as a collective than individually.
KELI KEY TO THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS FUTURE
Both the solicitation for Green Lantern #25 and Green Lantern Corps #6 are heavily teasing Keli Quintela important role in the franchise. She is the one character that is mentioned in both comic books. Specifically, the secrets that Keli appears to be keeping will play an important part in where the Fractured Spectrum direction will go.
To be honest, this is something that Keli’s character needs. Because after all the reshuffling of the Green Lantern Corps we have still yet to see Keli come into her own beyond when she debuted. So far she has been nothing more than a background character among the army of Earth Green Lanterns.
Along with this we also learn that Gemworld will now be utilized as part of what is going on with the Fractured Spectrum. A specific gem found in Gemworld is being set up to be a difference maker in what will happen with the current state of the Emotional Spectrum.
TITANS VS CRIME SYNDICATE RAMPS UP
The Justice League aren’t the only ones dealing with a major villain group of their own. The Titans are dealing with a threat as big as the Legion of Doom with Deathstroke assembling the new Crime Syndicate.
In the most recent issue of Titans, the team learned that Deathstroke is back and assembling a group of villains. What they don’t know is that Terra is the real puppet master. Though based on the solicitation for Titans #25, Deathstroke is certainly the one in charge of the Crime Syndicate. And more dangerous for the Titans is that Deatstroke has learned from his previous defeat against the heroes.
Along with what the greater team has going on, DC Comics July 2025 solicitations also showed that Donna Troy is getting a new one-shot spotlight. That comes in the form of Titans 2025 Annual. Given Donna returning to her role as the Titans leader this new one-shot can help further solidify her status quo. It certainly needed as DC Comics has made Donna all about being part of the Titans. Seeing more of Donna’s character established will help strengthen her position as the Titans leader.
