Destro #1 continued the trend of delivering another great comic book that the Energon Universe has been well known for since it began. Now ahead of its July 17th release Image Comics and Skybound has provided us with a first look at Destro #2 to share.
This will be continuing the narrative started by writer Dan Watters, artist Andrei Bressan, and colorist Adriano Lucas. That narrative saw a big blow stricken to Destro after it seemed he was gaining more power and influence over the world. That is something teased in the solicitation:
The world is changing–and Destro means to come out on top! But with Cobra Commander breathing down his neck and mercenaries Xamot and Tomax seeking to dethrone him as the world’s premier weapons manufacturer, he’ll have to survive the future in order to build it.
Destro #2 main cover will be handled by the series art team of Andrei Bressan and Adriano Lucas. Additional variant covers will include an all-star line-up of artists, Riley Rossmo, Nikola Čižmešija, Jeff Spokes, and Yasmine Putri. You can check out the covers and three-page preview below:

LOS ANGELES 06/26/2024 — Today Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, revealed interior pages and an impressive lineup of variant covers from Destro #2, the next chapter of the all-new limited series from writer Dan Watters (Loki, Universal Monsters: Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!), artist Andrei Bressan (Dark Ride, Birthright), and colorist Adriano Lucas (Dark Ride, Nightwing). Destro #2 hits comic book shops on July 17, 2024.

Destro #2 will feature a main cover by Bressan & Lucas, along with a stacked lineup of variant covers including an open to order cover by Riley Rossmo (Proof), the second cover in the 1:10 incentive connecting cover series by Nikola Čižmešija (Batman and Robin), a 1:25 incentive variant by Jeff Spokes (Batman: The Brave and The Bold), and a 1:50 incentive variant by cover artist Yasmine Putri (Phoenix).
Rounding out the lineup of four action-packed G.I. JOE miniseries that introduce the iconic characters of the G.I. Joe and Cobra teams to the Energon Universe, Destro joins Duke by Joshua Williamson (Superman, Dark Ride), Tom Reilly (The Thing) and Jordie Bellaire (W0rldtr33), Cobra Commander from writer Joshua Williamson, artist Andrea Milana (Impact Winter: Rook) and colorist Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song), and Scarlett from writer Kelly Thompson (Black Widow, Birds of Prey), artist Marco Ferrari (Frontiersman), and colorist Lee Loughridge (I Hate This Place, Killadelphia). These miniseries promise to set the stage for a fresh new take on G.I. Joe, Cobra and the iconic characters that you only think you know!
Destro is a series within the Energon Universe, a cornerstone of the historic collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, with TRANSFORMERS and G.I.
