Energon Universe Preview: Destro #3

The Energon Universe continues going strong into August. Now Skybound and Image Comics have shared with us a preview of one of their upcoming August 21st releases in Destro #3. For Destro #3 writer Dan Watters will be joined by guest artist Andrea Milana with colorist Adriano Lucas continuing work on the series.

Like its predecessor in Cobra Commander, Destro has gone all in on exploring the villain side of the GI JOE world. As Destro accumulated power he came to an uneasy alliance with his long-time nemesis, the Crimson Twins. Given how intense the war between the two sides was it’s anyone’s guess how long the alliance can last. Though the Crimson Twins may be the least of Destro’s concerns as teased by the third issue solicitation:

Stranded in the mountains without any weapons, Destro must survive the Chameleon’s wrath. But who is the Chameleon? And why do they want Laird Destro dead?

Destro #3 main cover will be handled by Andrei Bressan and Adriano Lucas. Additionally, variant covers will be available from artists Karl Kerschl, Nikola Čižmešija, Mico Suayan, Rex Lokus, and Eric Canete. Check out the covers and four-page preview below:

Destro #3 is scheduled to be released in comic book shops and digital storefronts on August 21, 2024. Learn more from the Skybound and Image Comics press release.
