Energon Universe Preview: Destro #4

With the first G.I. JOE ongoing series set in the Energon Universe set to release in November we first must find out how the Destro and Scarlett. Earlier this month we got a preview of Scarlett #4. Now Skybound and Image Comics has provided us with a preview of Destro #4 that is set to be released on September 18th.

As the finale of writer Dan Wattersartist Andrei Bressan, and colorist Adriano Lucas’ Destro mini-series there is a lot to wrap up ahead of November’s GI JOE launch. That is something that teased in the solicitation for the fourth issue:

Destro’s coming for Chameleon, Tomax, Xamot…and anyone who gets in his way. 

Destro #4’s main cover will be handled by series art team of Andrei Bressan and Adriano Lucas. Additionally, variant covers will also be available, done by artists Siya Oum, Nikola Čižmešija, Travis Moore, and Homare. Check out the covers and four-page preview of Destro #4 below:

LOS ANGELES 08/22/2024 — Today Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, revealed interior pages and an impressive lineup of variant covers from Destro #4, the penultimate chapter of the limited series from writer Dan Watters (Loki, Universal Monsters: Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!), artist Andrei Bressan (Dark Ride, Birthright), and colorist Adriano Lucas (Dark Ride, Nightwing). Destro #4 hits comic book shops on September 18, 2024.

Destro’s coming for Chameleon, Tomax, Xamot…and anyone who gets in his way.

Destro #4 will feature a main cover by Andrei Bressan & Lucas, along with a stacked lineup of variant covers including an open to order cover by Siya Oum (Batman Beyond), the fourth cover in the 1:10 incentive connecting cover series by Nikola Čižmešija (Batman and Robin), a 1:25 incentive variant by Travis Moore (Nightwing), and a 1:50 incentive variant by cover artist Homare.

Rounding out the lineup of four action-packed G.I. JOE miniseries that introduce the iconic characters of the G.I. Joe and Cobra teams to the Energon Universe, Destro joins Duke by Joshua Williamson (SupermanDark Ride), Tom Reilly (The Thing) and Jordie Bellaire (W0rldtr33), Cobra Commander from writer Joshua Williamson, artist Andrea Milana (Impact Winter: Rook) and colorist Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song), and Scarlett from writer Kelly Thompson (Black Widow, Birds of Prey), artist Marco Ferrari (Frontiersman), and colorist Lee Loughridge (I Hate This Place, Killadelphia). These miniseries promise to set the stage for a fresh new take on G.I. Joe, Cobra and the iconic characters that you only think you know!

Destro is a series within the Energon Universe, a cornerstone of the historic collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, with TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE comics finding a new home with the publisher to introduce a brand-new era for these landmark franchises in one shared universe.
