Absolute Batman 005-1 February 2025 Comic Book Sales

February 2025 Comic Book Sales Rankings

It is time to check out the February 2025 comic book sales rankings. Things are getting murkier in terms of actual unit numbers. So, we must settle with going to ICv2 for their Top 200 sales rankings. It is not as good as actual unit numbers, but we must work with what we get.

Keep in mind that the Top 200 sales rankings are based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub system at over 125 local comic book shops selling American comics. These sales rankings represent sales to consumers by local comic shops.

We all know that these ICv2 sales charts based on the ComicHub system are not the best. However, as long as publishers hide their sales statistics, this is the best that we have to go by. You do see that these sales charts give a rough sketch of the market because titles that get canceled correspond with low sales rankings in these ComicHub charts. I wish we had better data to analyze, but we have to make do with whatever data we have these days.

The data for the February 2025 comic book sales rankings was collected based on a five-week month, from February 2 to March 1, 2025.

You can go over to ICv2 and check out the Top 50 for February 2025 for free or opt for a pro membership (It is well worth the money) and get the Top 200 for February 2025 and then come back here for a detailed analysis of the February 2025 comic book sales rankings!

Marvel Comics is like a Top 25 college football team playing a Group of Five football team. They might struggle in the first half of a game, but come the second half they will assert their dominance. Marvel Comics definitely asserted its dominance in the Top 50 by crushing all of the competition in February 2025. Marvel Comics even exceeded their numbers compared to a year, two years, and three years ago.

DC Comics placed thirteen comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the sixteen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in January 2025.

Numbers were flat from two years ago, as DC Comics had thirteen comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had nine comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

It has to be demoralizing for DC Comics to see how poorly they perform in the Top 50. The fact that DC Comics actually performed worse compared to a year ago and the same compared to two years ago is disheartening. DC Comics still has a long road to go before it becomes anything resembling a passable competitor to Marvel Comics.

Image Comics placed three comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the four comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in January 2025.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-two comics in the Top 75 in February 2022.

Marvel Comics is an absolute menace. Sales in the Top 75 were up across the board. Marvel Comics is the bully that just keeps getting bigger and badder.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had nineteen comics in the Top 75 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had twenty-one comics in the Top 75 in February 2022.

The good news is that sales in the Top 75 for DC Comics are up across the board. The bad news is that the gap between DC Comics and Marvel Comics remains a Grand-Canyon-sized gap.

Image Comics placed four comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the seven comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in January 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were down as Image Comics had ten comics in the Top 75 in February 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Image Comics had seven comics in the Top 75 in February 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Image Comics had ten comics in the Top 75 in February 2022.

Sales numbers in the Top 75 were grim for Image Comics. The fact is that as the Hasbro titles go in the Top 200, so does Image Comics’ sales success. The Habsbro franchise is what powered Image Comics’s surge in sales over the past couple of years. This shows the importance of Image Comics getting more Hasbro franchise titles onto the market.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the two comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 75 in January 2025.

As always, both of IDW Publishing’s comics in the Top 75 are from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

The Battle for the Top 100

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had fifty-seven comics in the Top 100 in February 2022.

Marvel Comics continues to dominate all of the competition in the Top 100 like Derrick Henry playing a Pop Warner football team.

DC Comics placed thirty comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were flat from the thirty comics that DC Comics had in the Top 100 in January 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were u,p as DC Comics had twenty-three comics in the Top 100 in February 2024.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had twenty-six comics in the Top 100 in February 2022.

Again, the good news for DC Comics is that their sales in the Top 100 are up across the board. The bad news is that the gap between Marvel Comics and DC Comics remains demoralizingly massive.

Year-over-year numbers were down as Image Comics had fourteen comics in the Top 100 in February 2024.

Numbers were flat from two years ago, as Image Comics had eight comics in the Top 100 in February 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Image Comics had fourteen comics in the Top 100 in February 2022.

Image Comics needs to heat up more Hasbro franchise and Universal Monster franchise titles since that is what powered their increase in sales over the past year.

Dynamite Entertainment placed two comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 100 in January 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were flat, as Dynamite Entertainment had two comics in the Top 100 in February 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had one comic in the Top 100 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had one comic in the Top 100 in February 2022.

The 1980s continue to be very good for Dynamite Entertainment. Both Dynamite Entertainment comics in the Top 100 came from the greatest decade of them all.

SilverHawks #1 debuted at the number 77 spot. That is a stronger debut than I anticipated for this franchise. I love to see this happen.

The resolicitation of ThunderCats #12 took the number 86 spot. It is always impressive when a resolicitated issue not from the Big Two cracks the Top 100.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the two comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 100 in January 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 100 in February 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 100 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 100 in February 2022.

IDW Publishing would be irrelevant without the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rescuing their ass every single month.

Jason Aaron had three issues with Absolute Superman #4 at the number 3 spot, Bug Wars #1 at the number 22 spot, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #7 at the number 49 spot.

However, one writer stood above all in February 2025. That would be Jed MacKay.

Jed MacKay notched a whopping five issues from different titles in the Top 50 with X-Men #11 at the number 10 spot, X-Men #12 at the number 24 spot, Avengers #23 at the number 32 spot, X-Men #10 at the number 39 spot, and Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #5 at the number 48 spot.

Therefore, the winner of the Joshua Williamson Award for February 2025 is…Jed MacKay!

20 G.I. Joe #4

158 G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #314

The Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was worse than January 2025, when the Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were worse, as the Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Transformers #17 stayed at the number 9 spot, which is the same spot it had in January 2025.

G.I. Joe #4 dipped from the number 14 spot to the number 20 spot. The last thing Image Comics wants to see is for this once-red-hot title to drop out of the Top 25.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #314 fell from the number 93 spot to the number 158 spot. This continues to be the only Hasbro franchise comic that has struggled in the sales rankings.

Spawn Franchise

78 Spawn #361

90 Gunslinger Spawn #40

131 Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn #3

145 King Spawn #42

193 Spawn Rat City #11

Unranked: Spawn Scorched #38

The Spawn franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was flat compared to January 2025, when the Spawn franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.

Spawn #361 climbed from the number 102 spot to the number 78 spot. This was an excellent rebound month for Spawn.

Gunslinger Spawn #40 climbed from the number 103 spot to the number 90 spot. This title has strung together consecutive months of rising in the sales rankings.

Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn #3 dropped from the number 83 spot to the number 131 spot. This title has fallen quickly from its debut number at the number 67 spot.

King Spawn #42 dipped from the number 133 spot to the number 145 spot.

Spawn Rat City #11 fell from the number 176 spot to the number 193 spot. Erica Schultz continues to struggle in the sales chart. Schultz is still an odd choice of writer for this title.

Spawn Scorched #38 fell out of the Top 200 and went unranked.

Ghost Machine Titles

69 Geiger #11

161 Rocketfellers #3

Unranked: Hornsby & Halo #4

Geiger #11 fell from the number 50 spot to the number 69 spot.

Rocketfellers #3 climbed back into the Top 200 and took the number 161 spot. It is nice to see this title finally cracking the Top 200.

Hornsby & Halo #4 went unranked for the fourth consecutive month.

Star Wars Franchise

19 Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #1 (Marvel Comics)

117 Star Wars: Ahsoka #8 (Marvel Comics)

163 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker #1 (Marvel Comics)

194 Star Wars: A New Legacy #1 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #15 (Dark Horse Comics)

The Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was better than January 2025, when the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up in the Top 25 and down in the Top 50 as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

What a massively embarrassing month February 2025 was for the Star Wars franchise. Star Wars rolled out four brand new titles and only one of them managed to make it into the Top 100. What a humiliating moment. This highlights how far the Star Wars franchise has fallen under Disney’s control. This franchise was the gold standard prior to Disney’s purchasing it.

There are seven Star Wars titles currently on the market, and only one of the seven is in the Top 100. This once-beloved franchise is in rough shape. I am unsure if Marvel Comics or Dark Horse Comics has the proper editors in place to revive this franchise.

Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #1 had a nice debut, taking the number 19 spot. Charles Soule is delivering this four-issue mini-series. Soule is the best writer that the Star Wars franchise has at the moment. Vader is also the most popular Star Wars character. So, Vader’s branding should help this comic sell.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #8 climbed from the number 168 spot to the number 117 spot. This title is doomed to remain in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Star Wars: The High Republic – Fear of the Jedi #1 had a horrendous debut, coming in at the number 120 spot. This five-issue mini-series from Cavan Scott is dead on arrival. Scott continues his streak of having zero sales success.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch- Ghost Agents #1 had an awful debut, coming in at the number 134 spot. This five-issue mini-series from Michale Moreci is already toast.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker #1 had a pathetic debut, taking the number 163 spot. This is a comic book adaptation that nobody was asking for.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #15 was unranked. This Daniel Older title is always unranked.

Spider-Man Franchise

6 Ultimate Spider-Man #14

11 Amazing Spider-Man #67

12 Eddie Brock: Carnage #1

16 Amazing Spider-Man #68

34 Amazing Spider-Man #68.1 8 Deaths of Spider-Man

59 Ultimate Spider-Man #13 (Resolicitation)

70 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30 (Deadpools vs Spider-Man)

198 Amazing Spider-Man #65 (Resolicitation)

The Spider-Man franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50. This was worse in the Top 10 and Top 25 but flat in the Top 50 compared to January 2025, when the Spider-Man franchise had two comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down by a wide margin as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were also down from two years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had four comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

The Spider-Man franchise has cooled off considerably compared to the past several years. Peter Parker is still hot, but that is it.

Amazing Spider-Man #67 took the number 11 spot. Amazing Spider-Man #68 took the number 16 spot. Amazing Spider-Man #68.1 8 Deaths of Spider-Man took the number 34 spot.

This was worse than January 2025, when Amazing Spider-Man #65 took the number 8 spot, Amazing Spider-Man #66 took the number 11 spot, and Amazing Spider-Man #65.1 took the number 16 spot.

You Amazing Spider-Man fans are phenomenal. You guys are just so rabid that you will support this title even if it means you have to put up with the atrocious writing of Justina Ireland. Now that is loyalty!

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3 dropped from the number 120 spot to the number 142 spot. Nobody wants a part of this mess of a comic book.

Spectacular Spider-Men #12 rebounded from the number 156 spot to the number 74 spot. This was to be expected as this title shipped two issues in December 2024.

Let’s check in on the knock-off Spider-Men.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30 fell from the number 59 spot to the number 70 spot.

Spider-Boy #16 climbed from the number 135 spot to the number 115 spot. This is the second consecutive month this title has climbed in the rankings.

Let’s hop over to the Venomverse.

Eddie Brock: Carnage #1 had a strong debut, taking the number 12 spot. This four-issue mini-series from Charles Soule is off to a wonderful start.

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #10 rebounded from the number 150 spot to the number 81 spot. This was also to be expected since this title shipped two issues in December 2024. The number 81 spot is roughly the same as the number 83 spot that Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider #8 took in December 2024.

X-Men Franchise

4 Ultimate Wolverine #2

10 X-Men #11

13 Magik #2

15 Uncanny X-Men #10

18 Wolverine #6

24 X-Men #12

26 Deadpool/Wolverine #2

28 Weapon X-Men #1

29 Exceptional X-Men #6

The X-Men franchise had two comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and eighteen comics in the Top 50. This was worse in the Top 10 but better in the Top 25 and Top 50 than in January 2025, when the X-Men franchise had four comics in the Top 10, eight comics in the Top 25, and fourteen comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and ten comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

Let’s start with the team titles.

X-Men #11 climbed from the number 28 spot to the number 10 spot. X-Men #12 dropped to the number 24 spot. These are the same type of sales rankings we have seen in prior months when X-Men shipped two issues in a single month.

Uncanny X-Men #10 fell from the number 12 spot to the number 15 spot. This is the second consecutive drop in the sales rankings and the second consecutive month that this title has sold outside of the Top 10. While still a strong seller, Uncanny X-Men’s run in the Top 10 may have closed. It is tough for titles to compete with the various Absolutel Universe and Ultimate Universe titles at the moment.

Weapon X-Men #1 had an okay debut, coming in at the number 28 spot. It will be interesting to see if this five-issue mini-series has the legs to remain a Top 50 seller.

Exceptional X-Men #6 ticked up from the number 36 spot to the number 29 spot. The X-Men brand continues to be strong even with a weak offering like this title.

X-Factor #7 rebounded from the number 102 spot to the number 58 spot. This was expected as X-Factor shipped two issues in December 2024. This is roughly where X-Factor #5 was in December 2024 when it took the number 57 spot.

X-Force #8 rebounded from the number 87 spot to the number 66 spot. This was expected, as X-Force shipped two issues in December 2024. This is lower than X-Force #6, which took the number 34 spot. Marvel Comics has already announced that X-Force will be canceled with issue #10.

NYX #8 dropped from the number 53 spot to the number 75 spot. Marvel Comics announced that the title will be cancelled with issue #10. It is no surprise that the Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly title was one of the first of the new X-Men titles to get axed.

Sentinels #5 plummeted from the number 112 spot to the number 187 spot. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series has concluded. Alex Paknadel’s mini-series was a sales failure.

Let’s hop over to the dudes of the X-Men franchise.

Wolverine #6 dipped from the number 15 spot to the number 18 spot. This is the second consecutive drop in the ratings and ties the lowest sales ranking for this title since Wolverine #4, which also took the number 18 spot. Still, it is great news for Marvel Comics to have Wolverine remain a solid Top 25 title.

Deadpool/Wolverine #2 dipped from the number 20 spot to the number 26 spot. This tiny drop in the rankings was an impressive performance for this five-issue mini-series.

Deadpool #11 rebounded from the number 100 spot to the number 42 spot. It looks like the return of the real Deadpool to this title has brought back more readers to the comic book.

Deadpool Team-Up #5 rebounded from the number 148 spot to the number 92 spot. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series concludes. Deadpool Team-Up was a sales disappointment for Marvel Comics.

Cable: Love and Chrome #2 ticked down from the number 94 spot to the number 95 spot. That is impressive to only drop one spot, given the horrendous debut this title garnered in December 2024.

Sabretooth The Dead Don’t Talk #3 ticked up from the number 158 spot to the number 155 spot. There continues to be little interest in this five-issue mini-series.

Let’s wrap things up with the ladies of the X-Men franchise.

Magik #2 ticked down from the number 5 spot to the number 13 spot. This is incredible! I was not impressed with Ashley Allen’s writing at all. However, Germán Peralta’s artwork alone is worth the price of admission.

Storm #5 dipped from the number 25 spot to the number 30 spot. This is amazing. Storm has never sold well in the past. And this latest iteration from Storm is being delivered by a no-name author. And yet, it is still a Top 30 title with the fifth issue! I did not see this coming at all. Incredible.

Psylocke #4 rebounded from the number 56 spot to the number 35 spot. Woah! This title zigged when I thought it would zag! We shall see if this title can manage to string together consecutive Top 50 finishes next month or if it drops again in the rankings.

Phoenix #8 rebounded from the number 56 spot to the number 38 spot. This is another title pulling a Lazarus as it seemed as if it was in a free-fall in the sales rankings. It should be interesting to see where this title goes next month.

Rogue: The Savage Land #2 plummeted from the number 6 spot to the number 44 spot. Damn. I was hoping Rogue would get more support. Oh well, titles I enjoy almost always sell poorly. Maybe I was the kiss of death?

Laura Kinney: Wolverine #3 fell from the number 34 spot to the number 46 spot. This title seems destined to slide out of the Top 50 with the next issue.

Mystique #5 took the number 98 spot, which is the same place in the rankings this title took in January 2025. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series concludes. Mystique was a sales disappointment for Marvel Comics.

Avengers Franchise

5 Ultimates #9

17 Aliens Vs. Avengers #3

27 Red Hulk #1

37 Ultimate Black Panther #13

91 Iron Man #5

102 West Coast Avengers #4

177 Captain America & Volstagg #1

181 West Coast Avengers #3 (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Ultraman x Avengers #4

The Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50. This was better in the Top 10 and Top 25 and flat in the Top 50 compared to January 2025, when the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were down in the Top 25 but flat in the Top 50 from two years ago, as the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

Let’s start with the team titles.

Aliens vs. Avengers #3 dipped from the number 10 spot to the number 17 spot. This four-issue mini-series continues to be a strong seller despite the gaps in the shipping schedule, as Aliens vs. Avengers #2 shipped back in November 2024.

Avengers #23 rebounded from the number 71 spot to the number 32 spot. This was expected, as Avengers shipped two issues in December 2024. Avengers #23 is close to where Avengers #21 was when it took the number 29 spot.

Thunderbolts: Doomstrike #1 had a disappointing debut, missing the Top 50 and coming in at the number 61 spot. This was no surprise since Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly are the writers, and they never had any sales success. I am mystified how these two keep getting work from Marvel Comics.

West Coast Avengers #4 ticked up from the number 108 spot to the number 102 spot. This title seems destined to remain a dead walking title.

Ultraman x Avengers #4 was unranked. This title has been unranked with every issue. Japan may adore and worship Ultraman, but he gets little love over here in the States.

Let’s hop over to the boys of the Avengers franchise.

Red Hulk #1 had an average debut, failing to make the Top 25 and taking the number 27 spot. Benjamin Percy has had sales success in the past, so I am not going to count him out on being able to keep Red Hulk from falling too sharply in the rankings.

Incredible Hulk #22 fell from the number 37 spot to the number 54 spot. This title has continued to yo-yo in and out of the Top 50 over the past several months.

56 Immortal Thor #20 fell from the number 46 spot to the number 56 spot. After a month reprieve of selling outside of the Top 50 for three months, this title finds itself back outside of the Top 50.

Sam Wilson: Captain America #2 fell from the number 74 spot to the number 84 spot. Nobody is surprised by this as Falcon Cap has never sold well. This title should be a dead title walking by next month.

Captain America & Volstagg #1 had a brutal debut, coming in at the number 177 spot. Nobody was interested in this J. Michael Straczynksi one-shot.

Iron Man #5 plummeted from the number 47 spot to the number 91 spot. This is the lowest ranking for this new title. Next month will be pivotal to see if this title can mount another rebound like it did last month.

Let’s wrap up with the sole lady of the Avengers franchise.

Scarlet Witch #9 rebounded from the number 115 spot to the number 71 spot. This title continues to bounce in and out of the Top 100.

Fantastic Four Franchise

2 One World Under Doom #1

21 Doom Academy #1

52 Fantastic Four #29

129 Fantastic Four #28 (Resolicitation)

159 Fantastic Four Facsimile Edition #2

170 Namor #7

The Fantastic Four franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was better in the Top 10 and Top 25 but down in the Top 50 compared to January 2025, when the Fantastic Four franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

One World Under Doom #1 had a monster debut, taking the number 2 spot. I am sure that Marvel Comics was hoping their latest big event would score the number 1 spot. However, this is still a fantastic debut number. Especially considering how the Ultimate Universe and Absolute Universe titles have been such sales juggernauts.

Fantastic Four #29 fell from the number 22 spot to the number 52 spot. Yikes! I am sure Marvel Comics was not anticipating Fantastic Four experiencing such a sales drop the same month the One World Under Doom big event kicked off. Fantastic Four #29, being a One World Under Doom tie-in issue, should have made it experience a sales bump.

Doom Academy #1 had a solid debut, taking the number 21 spot. I have never heard of MacKenzie Cadenhead, so it is tough to predict how this title will perform based on the writer. The roster for this team is beyond odd so I am not that confident in these characters being able to drive big sales numbers.

Namor #7 dropped from the number 154 spot to the number 170 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this title has slid down the sales rankings. This title has been mired in the Dead Titles Walking category ever since the second issue. What a massive sales failure Namor has turned out to be, which is not what Marvel Comics was expecting given the “big name” in Jason Aaron that was placed on this title.

The Ultimate Universe

4 Ultimate Wolverine #2

5 Ultimates #9

6 Ultimate Spider-Man #14

36 Ultimate X-Men #12

37 Ultimate Black Panther #13

41 Ultimate Wolverine #1 (Resolicitation)

59 Ultimate Spider-Man #13 (Resolicitation)

73 Ultimate X-Men #11 (Resolicitation)

160 Ultimate Universe One Year In #1 (Resolicitation)

The Ultimate Universe had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50. This was better than January 2025, when the Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Ultimate Wolverine #2 ticked down from the number 2 spot to the number 4 spot. That is an impressive showing for the second issue of this newest addition to the Ultimate Universe! Marvel Comics just keeps winning with the Ultimate Universe titles.

Ultimates #9 rebounded from the number 25 spot to the number 5 spot. This was expected, as Ultimates shipped two issues in the December 2024 sales chart. Ultimates sports some rather bad writing, but this title continues to be popular and is a total sales monster.

Ultimate Spider-Man #14 dipped from the number 4 spot to the number 6 spot. This title is insane. It just keeps selling in the Top 10 every single damn month. Ultimate Spider-Man is inevitable.

Ultimate X-Men #12 fell from the number 28 spot to the number 32 spot. The days of Ultimate X-Men being a consistent Top 10 or Top 25 seller are definitely behind it. However, there is nothing wrong with being a consistent Top 50 seller.

Ultimate Black Panther #13 fell from the number 29 spot to the number 37 spot. That is a testament to the power of the Ultimate Universe franchise that its “weakest” selling title is still a constant Top 50 title.

Unranked: Little Batman: Month One #4

The Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50. This was better in the Top 10, flat in the Top 25, and worse in the Top 50 compared to January 2025, when the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as the Batman franchise had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

The Batman franchise has fallen on rough times compared to a year, two years, and three years ago. Thank goodness for Bruce Wayne, as the top four-selling titles are all Bruce Wayne comics. Four of the five comics in the Top 50 are Bruce Wayne titles.

Let’s kick things off with the star of the show, Bruce Wayne.

Batman #157 ticked up from the number 12 spot to the number 8 spot. This ends a two-month run of Batman selling outside of the Top 10.

Batman: The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #5 dipped from the number 36 spot to the number 40 spot. This limited series continues to be a lock for the Top 50.

Batman: Dark Patterns #3 ticked down from the number 48 spot to the number 55 spot. Last month, I predicted this title would drop out of the Top 50. But, the drop was small. So, this twelve-issue limited series might just have the legs to remain a Top 75 seller until the conclusion.

Detective Comics #1094 fell from the number 33 spot to the number 57 spot. This is basically where Detective Comics #1092 was when it took the number 58 spot. Detective Comics continues to sell lower under Tom Taylor than it did under Ram V before he left the title due to the All-In initiative. Taylor has struggled to keep this title in the Top 50 every month.

Batman Superman World’s Finest #36 fell from the number 49 spot to the number 65 spot. This title continues to struggle to stay in the Top 50 as it has been outside of the Top 50 for three of the past four months.

Batman Off-World #6 climbed from the number 139 spot to the number 88 spot. With this issue, this mini-series concludes. Despite having a “big name” writer in Jason Aaron, this mini-series was a sales dud. Of course, the horrendous shipping schedule did not help any. Issue #4 was released in April 2024, issue #5 shipped in August 2024, and issue #6 shipped in February 2025. That is a joke.

Batman and Robin Year One #5 fell from the number 39 spot to the number 47 spot. It appears that this twelve-issue limited series is about to end its run in the Top 50.

Batman and Robin #18 fell from the number 72 spot to the number 85 spot. This title continues to suffer after the All-In initiative writer switch.

Let’s check out the sole bat-boy title.

Nightwing #123 fell from the number 43 spot to the number 64 spot. This ended this title’s one-month return to the Top 50. It appears that Nightwing may no longer be a consistent Top 50 seller. DC continues to struggle to build any consistent strong sellers outside of Bruce Wayne.

Let’s hop over to the ladies of the Batman franchise.

Batgirl #4 ticked up from the number 53 spot to the number 50 spot. On the one hand, it is good news for DC Comics that this title snuck back into the Top 50. On the other hand, this is way far below the number 19 debut for this title. We shall see if Batgirl has the chops to stay a consistent Top 50 seller or not.

Poison Ivy #30 rebounded from the number 194 spot to the number 53 spot. This was expected as Poison Ivy shipped two issues in December 2024’s sales chart. The good news is that Poison Ivy came in even higher than Poison Ivy #28 which took the number 75 spot. In fact, this is the highest sales ranking for Poison Ivy since Poison Ivy #20 took the number 55 spot almost a year ago in March 2024.

Birds of Prey #18 climbed from the number 123 spot to the number 97 spot. This title has bobbed in and out of the very bottom of the Top 100 in the past three issues. Birds of Prey #16 was at the number 98 spot.

Catwoman #73 ticked down from the number 110 spot to the number 113 spot. Torunn Grømbekk’s run on this title continues its nightmare start. Catwoman is doomed to be a dead title walking. On the other hand, Catwoman continues to have some excellent variant covers. My favorite this month was Dan Panosian’s incredible cover.

Harley Quinn #48 plummeted from the number 155 spot to the number 196 spot. Wow. Elliot Kalan has been a massive failure on this title since he took over with the All-In Initiative. First, Tini Howard, and now this. Poor Harley Quinn cannot get a win.

Let’s conclude with the sole villain title.

Two-Face #3 rebounded from being unranked to taking the number 130 spot. This was expected as Two-Face shipped two issues in the January 2025 sales chart.

151 Absolute Superman #2 (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Power Girl #18 (DC Comics)

The Superman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was worse than January 2025, when the Superman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were flat from two years ago as the Superman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

Superman #23 fell from the number 38 spot to the number 51 spot. This ended a one-month run back in the Top 50. Superman has now sold outside of the Top 50 in three of the past four issues. DC Comics needs Superman to be a consistent Top 50 seller.

Action Comics #1083 dropped from the number 63 spot to the number 76 spot.

Power Girl #18 fell from the number 149 spot and right out of the rankings and was unranked. Leah Williams’ Power Girl has now gone unranked in two of the past three issues. I have no clue why DC Comics has not replaced Williams at this point. Don’t we all wish we could be as bad as this at our jobs and keep getting paid?

Unranked: Metamorpho: The Element Man #3

The Justice League franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50. This was better than January 2025, when the Justice League franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in February 2022.

First, let’s look at the team titles.

Justice League Unlimited #4 fell from the number 13 spot to the number 25 spot. DC Comics cannot afford their premier super team title to fall out of the Top 25.

JSA #4 rebounded from the number 165 spot to the number 68 spot. This was expected, as JSA shipped two issues in the December 2024 sales chart. Having said that, this is still lower than the number 50 ranking that JSA #2 snagged. It looks like JSA’s run in the Top 50 may have ended after its second issue.

Justice League: The Atom Project #2 rebounded from a terrible debut at the number 168 spot to the number 103 spot. That is fantastic news for this six-issue limited series.

Let’s look at the Green Lantern titles.

Green Lantern Corps #1 had a solid but not spectacular debut, taking the number 23 spot. Jamal Campbell is doing the writing and art on this new ongoing title. This comic is John Stewart and Guy Gardner plus a bunch of scrubs that nobody cares about. Seriously, I love John and Guy, but the rest of this roster is a crap stream of characters like Teen Lantern, Simon Baz, Jessica Crus, and Jo Mullen.

I am not that bullish on this title since none of these characters have ever sold well. Jeremy Adams and Morgan Hampton are the co-writers. Adams has a history of delivering stories that sell, but Morgan has a history of no sales success. So, we shall see how this writing tandem works out going forward.

Green Lantern #20 fell from the number 106 spot to the number 114 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this title has sold outside of the Top 100. The All-In initiative and adding Kyle Rayner to this title have led to this comic falling in the sales rankings.

This is blowing up in DC Comics’s face. The Green Lantern franchise must remain a strong-selling franchise for DC Comics in their effort to have anything outside of Bruce Wayne titles as healthy franchises. This is awful news for DC Comics.

Green Lantern Dark #3 dropped from the number 176 spot to the number 180 spot. This seven-issue mini-series has been a complete failure.

Let’s hop over to the boys of the Justice League franchise.

Aquaman #2 crashed and burned, falling from the number 19 spot down to the number 60 spot. Welp. So much for this title remaining a Top 25 seller or even a Top 50 seller! This is more disheartening news for DC Comics as they continue to struggle to make a strong seller out of anyone not named Bruce Wayne.

Green Arrow #21 dropped from the number 124 spot to the number 178 spot. Chris Condon is doing nothing to attract readers to this comic. This title continues to be a complete failure. Again, this is another character who should be selling far better than this.

The Flash #18 fell from the number 124 spot to the number 185 spot. This is close to where The Flash #16 was in December 2024 when it took the number 197 spot. DC Comics’ handling of the Flash franchise is a complete disaster. This was a franchise that used to be a strong-selling title when it centered on Barry Allen. DC Comics needs to dump Simon Spurrier and rethink their decision to focus this comic on Wally West instead of Barry Allen. Because this current approach is an epic sales failure. Again, this is yet another franchise that should be a consistent Top 50 seller for DC Comics.

Black Lightning #4 fell from the number 172 spot to the number 195 spot. This title continues to be a total sales disaster. Brandon Thomas’s story has failed to connect with readers. Focusing on Jefferson Pierce’s two daughters as co-stars of this comic has been a complete miss with readers. I would love to get a Black Lightning comic from a different writer that focuses squarely on Jefferson Pierce.

Metamorpho: The Element Man #3 fell from the number 155 spot and right out of the Top 200 to end up unranked. I love Metamorpho, so it is sad to see this comic failing so badly. Al Ewing simply has not connected with readers with this story.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Justice League franchise.

Zatanna #1 had an excellent debut, taking the number 14 spot. I love to see my favorite female JLA’er doing so well! Jamal Campbell is both the writer and artist for this six-issue mini-series. I adore Campbell’s artwork. So, big thumbs up from me there. But I am less than excited about Campbell also being the writer. So, we shall have to hope for the best going forward.

Wonder Woman #18 dipped from the number 40 spot to the number 45 spot. This is the fourth consecutive month that this title has sold outside of the Top 25. I think it is safe to say that this title’s run in the Top 25 is officially over. Now, we shall see if this title can maintain its status as a consistent Top 50 seller going forward.

Black Canary Best of the Best #4 dropped from the number 89 spot to the number 133 spot. This title has now had two of its four issues in the Dead Titles Walking category. This six-issue mini-series from Tom King has been a massive sales disappointment.

The Absolute Universe had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was worse than January 2025, when the Absolute Universe had three comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Absolute Batman #5 took the number 1 spot for the third consecutive month and the fourth time in five months. This is completely insane! Scott Snyder and Bruce Wayne are an unstoppable combination!

Also, all five issues of Absolute Batman ranked in the Top 96. That is crazy.

Absolute Superman #4 climbed from the number 10 spot to the number 3 spot. All four issues of Absolute Superman ranked in the Top 151.

Absolute Wonder Woman #5 fell from the number 3 spot to the number 7 spot. All five issues of Absolute Wonder Woman ranked in the Top 150.

What else can I say? The Absolute Universe is the hottest thing in comics right now.

Supernatural Comics

48 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #5 (Marvel Comics)

108 DC Vs Vampires World War V Darkness and Light #1 (One-Shot) (DC Comics)

116 Hellhunters #3 (Marvel Comics)

118 Hellverine #3 (Marvel Comics)

132 Werewolf by Night Red Band #7 (Marvel Comics)

135 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #4 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

138 Spirits of Vengeance #6 (Marvel Comics)

156 Blade: Red Band #5 (Marvel Comics)

184 Hellhunters #2 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: DC Horror Presents: Creature Commandos #5 (DC Comics)

Marvel Comics beat DC Comics by a score of 1-0 in the Top 100. Not too impressive by either publisher.

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #5 climbed from the number 87 spot to the number 48 spot. This is the first time this title has been in the Top 50 since Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #2.

DC vs Vampires World War V Darkness and Light #1 had a dismal debut at the number 108 spot. Matthew Rosenberg continues his string of having no sales success.

Hellhunters #3 dipped from the number 114 spot to the number 116 spot. This five-issue mini-series is a lock to conclude as a dead title walking.

Hellverine #3 plummeted from the number 58 spot to the number 118 spot. I predicted this title would fall out of the Top 75, but I was not expecting this dramatic of a drop. Brutal.

Werewolf by Night Red Band #7 rebounded from the number 182 spot to the number 132 spot. This was expected as Werewolf by Night shipped two issues in the December sales chart. Having said that, this is lower than Werewolf by Night Red Band #5, which took the number 108 spot. So, it looks like this title will be a dead title walking going forward.

Spirits of Vengeance #6 dropped from the number 119 spot to the number 138 spot.

Blade: Red Band #5 fell from the number 105 spot to the number 156 spot. This title is doomed to dwell in the Dead Titles Walking category every month.

DC Horror Presents: Creature Commandos #5 for the third consecutive issue. Maybe DC Comics editorial has finally learned that hiring Hollywood actors to write mainstream comics is dumb? Nah, that will never happen.

Cosmic Comics

33 New Gods #3 (Of 12) (DC Comics)

154 TVA #3 (Marvel Comics)

162 Challengers of the Unknown #3 (Of 6) (DC Comics)

192 Infinity Watch #2 (Marvel Comics)

DC Comics beat Marvel Comics by a score of 1-0.

New Gods #3 ticked down from the number 30 spot to the number 33 spot. This is incredible! This title debuted at the number 27 spot. This title has barely budged at all. That is incredible for a title that debuted outside of the Top 25. This is not seen that often. Readers are clearly enjoying what Ram V is delivering with this title.

TVA #3 plummeted from the number 113 spot to the number 154 spot. Now, this is what you normally see when a title debuts outside of the Top 25. TVA #1 debuted at the number 45 spot and has experienced a freefall in the sales rankings. This story has been a huge swing and a miss from Katharyn Blair and Ryan North.

Challengers of the Unknown #3 fell from the number 126 spot to the number 162 spot. I expected this once I saw that Christopher Cantwell was going to be the writer for this beloved Jack Kirby creation. We shall see if this six-issue limited series can manage to conclude in the Top 200.

Infinity Watch #2 fell like a dead duck from the number 112 spot to the number 192 spot. Just brutal. This five-issue limited series is going to end up unranked. I have no idea what Marvel Comics editorial was thinking with the roster for this title. Once again, Marvel Comics’ editorial is totally out of touch with what their consumers desire.

Legacy Character Comics

21 Doom Academy #1 (Marvel Comics)

27 Red Hulk #1 (Marvel Comics)

50 Batgirl #4 (DC Comics)

64 Nightwing #123 (DC Comics)

105 Titans #20 (DC Comics)

115 Spider-Boy #16 (Marvel Comics)

118 Hellverine #3 (Marvel Comics)

185 The Flash #18 (DC Comics)

Unranked: Power Girl #18 (DC Comics)

There were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was better than January 2025, when there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

New Champions #2 plummeted from the number 32 spot to the number 99 spot. Ouch. This Steve Foxe title failed to get readers to return for more.

Titans #20 fell from the number 73 spot to the number 104 spot. This is close to Titans #18, which took the number 103 spot in December 2024. The All-In initiative creative team switch has been a total failure, as Titans #16 was at the number 56 spot before the switch.

Mantle Swap Comics

12 Eddie Brock: Carnage #1 (Marvel Comics)

31 All-New Venom #3 (Marvel Comics)

Year-over-year numbers were flat as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in February 2024.

Numbers were down in the Top 25 but up in the Top 50 from two years ago, as there were two mantle swap comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in February 2023.

Daredevil: Unleash Hell – Red Band #2 went into a death spiral as it fell from the number 20 spot to the number 82 spot. That is a brutal fall off the cliff for a title that debuted in the Top 25. This is normally what happens when readers get a taste of Erica Schultz’s stories. I had predicted this title would drop out of the Top 50 by the second or third issue. I was way too generous. It looks like this title may be out of the Top 100 with the next issue.

Question All Along the Watchtower #4 fell from the number 91 spot to the number 111 spot. This is the second issue out of four to land in the Dead Titles Walking category. Nobody was asking for a Renee Montoya Question mini-series. Now Vic Sage? Pair him up with a good writer and you could have an excellent comic on your hands.

Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in a shoot-out by the score of 11-8. Wow! This month was crazy for this category! We have never seen both publishers do this well in the same month! Both publishers should be happy.

Much of the success in the category has come from Marvel Comics pumping the market full of female lead titles from the X-Men franchise. Six of the eleven Top 50 female lead comics from both Marvel Comics and DC Comics came from the X-Men franchise. That is a testament to the incredible stable of female characters in the X-Men franchise.

DC Comics continues to rely heavily on Wonder Woman as she accounted for three of their five titles in the Top 50 and four of their eight titles in the Top 100.

Is this success sustainable? If you take out Wonder Woman, then the other ten female lead titles are all somewhere between their second and eighth issue. So, these are all very new titles. We will see if any of these characters can remain in the Top 50 like Wonder Woman has over her first eighteen issues.

Jenny Sparks #7 fell from the number 134 spot to the number 165 spot. This seven-issue mini-series from Tom King was a complete sales failure.

Marvel Comics beat DC Comics by a score of 6-1. Neither publisher is tearing up the sales chart in this category, but at least Marvel Comics is putting up far more of a competitive effort. What in the hell is DC Comics even doing? DC Comics is that kid in center field with his back to the pitcher and sitting there picking daisies during a baseball game.

Power Man: Timeless #1 had an awful debut, taking the number 94 spot.

Milestone Universe: The Shadow Cabinet #4 went unranked. This title has been unranked for four consecutive months. This is a dead franchise. DC Comics is clueless.

Dead Titles Walking

The Tini Howard Award For The Writer With The Most Dead Titles Walking

Well, this is a first. In the three years we have been doing this column, we have never had just one writer with more than one dead title walking in a month. But that is what we have with February 2025.

The only writer with more than one issue in the Dead Titles Walking category was Tom King. King had two issues from different titles with Black Canary Best of the Best #4 at the number 133 spot and Jenny Sparks #7 at the number 165 spot.

Therefore, the Tini Howard Award for February 2025 goes to…Tom King!

All right, that is it for February 2025. Will Marvel Comics continue its domination of the Top 200 in March 2025? We will find out. Until then, everyone, stay safe and be good!
