Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10 Himawari and Kurama Banner

Himawari Stronger Jinchuriki Than Naruto In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10

With this month’s Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10 we got full confirmation on the future of Himawari Uzumaki. This future was teased in the previous chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex where it was revealed a chibi version of Kurama, the Nine-Tail Demon Fox, resided within Himawari Uzumaki. This end of chapter reveals instantly created a lot of questions around the direction for the story around the God Trees. Let’s look at the key takeaways from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10, titled Kernel.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10 was centered around establishing why Kurama suddenly appeared within Himawari Uzumaki. As spoken about in our breakdown of the previous chapter, Kurama theorized that Himawari was born with a sliver of his chakra. Based on the information we got this could be connected to Kurama sacrificed itself so Naruto wouldn’t die from using Baryon Mode. After Kurama died from his sacrifice it activated the Nine-Tail Demon Fox chakra within Himawari to kickstart Kurama’s reincarnation. Kurama even mentions in this chapter that he was able to regain his current form because Himawari already having some of his chakra.

What isn’t stated is why Kurama was reborn in Boruto rather than Himawari. While not explained it could be that Boruto was also born with a sliver of Kurama’s chakra like Himawari, but once he received the Kāma seal it overrode Kurama’s chakra. Because of that it made it impossible for Boruto to become a Jinchuriki.

Kurama also stated that Himawari’s connection to him is much stronger than any previous Jinchuriki. This connection further plays into Himawari’s family lineage. Because both her father, Naruto, and grandmother, Kushina Uzumaki, where Kurama’s Jinchuriki. Not only that, but like Himawari, Kushina also likely passed on some of Kurama’s chakra when giving birth to Naruto. This plays into Kurama stating that Himawari has the strongest connection to a Tailed-Beast chakra seen from a Jinchuriki.

With that revelation, like her brother, Himawari inherited multiple things from her Hyuga and Uzumaki clan heritage. She even seems to be her grandmother’s successor as once she tapped into Kurama’s chakra her hair flared up like Kushina when she became the Red Hot-Blooded Habanero. Given that Kurama is already accepting Himawari as his Jinchuriki it plays into how she has greater potential than Naruto and Kushina before her.

HIMAWARI KEY TO SAVING NARUTO AND HINATA

With this development it explains why when Jura arrived in Konoha he immediately went after Himawari when he thought he detected Naruto. While Jura’s God Tree goal was to devour Naruto this may alter things. What Jura may truly desire is devoured is Kurama Tailed-Beast chakra. Right now, we don’t know who Jura is a God Tree clone of. The truth about that will play into why his stated goal was to devour Naruto.

At the same time, Himawari becoming Kurama’s new Jinchuriki could be key to her parents being saved from the dimension Kawaki trapped in. In his explanation Kurama drove home the sliver of his chakra that Himawari was born with that made her the new Jinchuriki. This statement could also be a tease to Naruto still having a very small bit of Kurama’s chakra inside him. If that is possible, this could set up a sibling reunion with Boruto and Himawari using the latter’s connection to Kurama to save their parents.

Another connection to saving Naruto and Hinata is Himawari’s possibly evolving her Byakugan to its next level, the Tenseigan. We only saw Tenseigan in The Last: Naruto the Movie. Given that the movie is in-continuity with the manga and anime, Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto can bring this element back so its not just a one-time thing. Himawari having access to Kurama’s chakra combined with her mastery of the Byakugan and being a distant descendent of Hamura Otsutsuki can cause her Dojutsu to evolve into the Tenseigan. Which further establishes Himawari as someone that can help Boruto save their parents.

SARADA UCHIHA AND OTHERS FUTURE INVOLVEMENT

While Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10 was focused on Himawari being Kurama’s Jinchuriki it wasn’t the only developments of the chapter. The chapter opened with Shikamaru telling Kawaki about Jura attacking Himawari. This set off Kawaki for not being informed early. With Shikamaru and Boruto being more careful about working together Kawaki being angry at the current Hokage is not a good thing. Shikamaru will need to be even more careful about secretly working with Boruto or else Kawaki will have his mind altered again like the other instances when Shikamaru realized the truth about Omnipotence world altering.

There is also the possibility of a major death happening as Inojin Yamanaka, in an attempt to save Himawari, was brutally stabbed in the gut by Jura’s Wood Release attack. It certainly appeared that the attack could instantly kill Inojin. And for better or worse, Inojin is a character that is a big enough name as Ino Yamanaka and Sai Yamanaka son for his death to be a big impact but a minor enough character his loss doesn’t alter the greater story direction of the series. Though with Himawari now having access to Kurama’s chakra she could use it to provide emergency healing to save Inojin’s life.

But easily the second big development of the chapter was Sarada Uchiha first meeting with Hidari. Right away we got another hint at how Sarada has grown stronger during the timeskip as she was able to easily dodge Hidari’s Chidori sneak attack. Establishing Sarada’s current skill level is needed with how strong the God Trees are. And with how personal things are since Hidari is Sasuke Uchiha’s God Tree clone, Sarada will really be tested with this clash.

All of these developments are done with Boruto only briefly appearing in this chapter. Boruto and Kawaki both having limited appearance is a good sign. This does show that Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto are investing time in building up the cast of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Even though we know Boruto vs Kawaki is what we are building towards it is a must to develop Sarada, Himawari, and others as important characters. Hopefully Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 10 is a sign of this positive direction for the series cast.
