Wow. The Revolution has a pretty big week headed for us this Wednesday. Man, I have the World Cup games to watch, plus write reviews for a pretty good sized week of comics. Something’s got to give. Let’s see, the World Cup is once every four years. Comics come every week. I think the World Cup will get priority over cranking out comic reviews this week.

All right, what comic book is the Revolution most looking forward to reading? That is easy. Flash #1. I am curious to see how the new creative team handles this title. I loved the Flash during Geoff Johns’ run on the title. I’m hesitant about how much I will enjoy anyone else handling the Flash. However, I’ll give it an honest and open minded try. But, I will state up front that if Bart turns out to be our permanent Flash then I’m dropping the title immediately. I have no interest in Bart as the Flash. It has to be either Barry or Wally to get me to shell out money for the Flash. I wonder if Dan “Death count” Didio’s bizarre belief that with every Crisis we must get a new Flash will take place.

I’m also interested in 52 #7. This title has consistently been one of the best reads each and every week. DC is doing a great job in this title. Yeah, I’ll even give a little credit to Diversity Dan Didio for 52.

I’m also looking forward to Justice #6. This has been an entertaining mini-series with some great artwork.

On the Marvel side, the title I am most looking forward to is Captain America #19. Brubaker is doing a fantastic job on this title and shows no signs of slowing down. It is sad that Captain America isn’t selling better than it is. Too bad that you have to have either an “X” in your title or star a scantily clad bimbo or a poor story combined with a “hot” artists to get high sales numbers. Having an “X” in your title is grossly overrated. If you want to check out scantily clad chicks then check out the numerous internet porn sites for that need. And a “hot” artist combined with a crap storyline isn’t worth anyone’s money. Captain America combines an excellent story with great artwork. It is definitely worth your money.

I am also looking forward to Eternals #1. All the previews of this mini-series look pretty interesting. Plus, it has been a long time since I have read anything about the Eternals. They are some pretty neat characters with plenty of potential.

Astonishing X-Men is always a great read and issue #15 should kick ass with the return of the Hellfire Club.

I have always loved the original Hellfire Club. And why wouldn’t I? You always had plenty of hot S&M chicks in leather!

The issue that I am least looking forward to is Nova #3. I love the character Nova, but this mini-series has been rather pointless so far. Hopefully, it will rebound and finish strong.

I also could care less about Uncanny X-Men #474. The only good thing about this issue is that this crap storyline is finally going to come to a merciful end. And Ed Brubaker will start in the next issue! I can’t wait. It has been a very long time since Uncanny X-Men was an interesting or compelling read.
