Now that is a huge week in store for the Revolution. An even eight titles from DC and eight titles from Marvel. That is a whopping 16 titles headed to the Bunker on Wednesday. There is just no way I will be able to post reviews for all 16 comic books. I was barely able to crank out 13 review this past week. I do have to work in order to pay the bills here at the Bunker! I’ll try my best to post reviews for the majority of these comic books.

All right, which DC comic am I most looking forward to reading? That is a very difficult choice. There are so many great titles coming out this week. Titans, Shazam, JLA, Batman and 52 are all vying for that spot. I will have to say that Justice League of America #2 just barely edges out the other titles. I thought Meltzer did a fantastic job with the debut issue of the Justice League of America. I am excited to see what happens next on this title.

Which DC comic am I least looking forward to reading? That is easy. Supergirl and the Legion of Super Heroes #22. This title hasn’t been a good read since Levitz left. This current version of the Legion has been less than impressive and the addition of Supergirl certainly didn’t increase my interest in this title. Other factors have hurt this title recently such as Waid being so busy with 52 that Bedard has had to come in and help with the writing and the various fill in artists as Barry Kitson has taking a break from this title. That has definitely hurt the story and the art on this title.

Which Marvel title am I most looking forward to reading? That is another tough choice. It comes down to Brubaker’s Captain America and Daredevil and Bendis’ Ultimate Spider-Man. I’m going to have to go with Ultimate Spider-Man #100. This title has been on fire for the past several issues and this issue is going to be a huge one.

Which Marvel title am I least looking forward to reading? Amazing Spider-Man #535. This title has stunk on ice ever since the Civil War tie-in issues started. I don’t see this title getting any better until Civil War ends.

Let the Revolution know what you are excited or less than excited about reading this week.

Your concerns were well justified, in my opinion. I flipped trhough ASM #535 in the comic shop, and was appalled at the characterization of Tony Stark.

The whole story was a thinly-veiled critique of the Guantanamo prison camp, with Stark taking the hard line of “the Negative Zone is not on US soil, so none of these prisoners are entitled to Constitutional protections,” or words to that effect. It’s simply crazy that Marvel is engaging in such wholesale character assassination of one of their most popular, long-time heroes just so they can bash the Bush administration.
