November 2024 Comic Book Sales Rankings

November 2024 Comic Book Sales Rankings

It is time to check out the November 2024 comic book sales rankings. Things are getting murkier in terms of actual unit numbers. So, we will have to settle with going to ICv2 for their Top 200 sales rankings. It is not as good as actual unit numbers, but we have to work with what we get.

Keep in mind, that the Top 200 sales rankings are based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub system at over 125 local comic book shops selling American comics. These sales rankings represent sales to consumers by local comic shops.

We all know that these ICv2 sales charts based on the ComicHub system are not the best. However, as long as publishers hide their sales statistics this is the best that we have to go by. You do see that these sales charts give a rough sketch of the market because titles that get canceled correspond with low sales rankings in these ComicHub charts. I wish we had better data to analyze, but we have to make do with whatever data we have these days.

The data for the November 2024 comic book sales rankings was collected based on a five-week month, from November 3 – November 30, 2024.

You can go over to ICv2 and check out the Top 50 for November 2024 for free or opt for a pro membership (It is well worth the money) and get the Top 200 for November 2024 and then come back here for a detailed analysis of the November 2024 comic book sales rankings!

November 2024 Top 200 Comic Book Sales Rankings

The Battle for the Top 10

Marvel Comics placed five comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were down from the six comics Marvel Comics had in the Top 10 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had six comics in the Top 10 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had six comics in the Top 10 in November 2022.

This is the first time in a long time that Marvel Comics has been shut out of the Top 3 spots in the comic sales rankings. The highest-ranked Marvel Comics was Ultimate Spider-Man #11, at the number 4 spot. Not even Marvel Comics and its new X-Men titles could withstand the merciless onslaught of DC Comics’ Absolute Universe comics.

DC Comics placed four comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the three comics that DC Comics had in the Top 10 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as DC Comics had two comics in the Top 10 in November 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago as DC Comics had four comics in the Top 10 in November 2022.

This is huge news for DC Comics. DC Comics have had a rough go in the Top 10 for the past several years. All of this Top 10 success is due to the smash success of the Absolute Universe comics. DC Comics needs to be on their knees kissing Scott Snyder’s ring for coming back to save their ass.

Image Comics placed one comic in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the one comic that Image Comics had in the Top 10 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were flat as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 10 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 10 in November 2022.

The sole Top 10 title for Image Comics was from the Hasbro franchise, which is what we have come to expect every month.

The Battle for the Top 25

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 11-25 range typically sell in the 65,000 to 50,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed eleven comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were down from the twelve comics Marvel Comics had in the Top 25 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had fifteen comics in the Top 25 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had twelve comics in the Top 25 in November 2022.

It is all bad news for Marvel Comics in the Top 25 when looking back across the past month, year, and two years ago. Marvel Comics lost some market share to Image Comics due to the Hasbro license. However, we finally see DC Comics making some inroads into Marvel Comics’ market share.

DC Comics placed ten comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the nine comics that DC Comics had in the Top 25 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as DC Comics had five comics in the Top 25 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as DC Comics had eleven comics in the Top 25 in November 2022.

Numbers were all up across the board for DC Comics. This has to make the Distinguished Competition extremely happy to see. After years of getting sand kicked in its face by Marvel Comics, it appears that DC Comics will finally try to punch the bully back.

Image Comics placed two comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the two comics that Image Comics had in the Top 25 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Image Comics had four comics in the Top 25 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 25 in November 2022.

As always, the two Image Comics in the Top 25 were from the Hasbro franchise.

IDW Publishing placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up/down/flat from the one comic that IDW Publishing had in the Top 25 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in November 2022.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Naruto #1 had a nice debut, taking the 15th spot. Combining two popular franchises into one title made this comic a lock to be a sales hit with readers.

BOOM! Studios placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that BOOM! Studios had in the Top 25 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as BOOM! Studios had zero comics in the Top 25 in November 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago as BOOM! Studios had one comic in the Top 25 in November 2022.

Something is Killing the Children #0 came in at the number 21 spot.

The Battle for the Top 50

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron and projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 26-50 range typically sell in the 49,000 to 30,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed twenty-six comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the twenty-eight comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 50 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had thirty-two comics in the Top 50 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had thirty-one comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

The news for Marvel Comics in the Top 50 does not get any better. Numbers were down across the board compared to a month, a year, and two years ago.

DC Comics placed seventeen comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the fourteen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as DC Comics had twelve comics in the Top 50 in November 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago as DC Comics had seventeen comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

This was a big month for DC Comics as it had an excellent showing in the Top 50. DC Comics has returned to where they were two years ago. DC Comics must keep building on this Top 50 success going into 2025.

Image Comics placed four comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the five comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Image Comics had five comics in the Top 50 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 50 in November 2022.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were flat from the two comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 50 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 50 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 fell from the number 15 spot to the number 33 spot. This once-hot title for this 1980s property is starting to cool off as it has dropped out of the Top 25 for the first time. Having said that, it is still excellent that this is a Top 50 title.

BOOM! Studios placed one comic in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that BOOM! Studios had in the Top 50 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as BOOM! Studios had zero comics in the Top 50 in November 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago as BOOM! Studios had one comic in the Top 50 in November 2022.

The Battle for the Top 75

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 51-75 range typically sell in the 29,000 to 25,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed thirty-nine comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the thirty-six comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 75 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had forty-six comics in the Top 75 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-three comics in the Top 75 in November 2022.

The news keeps getting worse for Marvel Comics as they are down in the Top 75 compared to a month, a year, and two years ago. It has to be a bit disconcerting that these losses are occurring so soon after the full relaunch of roughly one zillion X-Men franchise titles. I must give DC Comics credit for taking their shot at Marvel Comics during such a big relaunch window.

Daredevil #15 came in at the number 51 spot. This is a bad sign for Saladin Ahmed’s title. Daredevil has been a consistent Top 10 and Top 25 seller under prior creative teams for years. This is the lowest we have seen this title in a long time. Perhaps ol’ hornhead can mount a rally next month.

DC Comics placed twenty-six comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the twenty-eight comics that DC Comics had in the Top 75 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as DC Comics had nineteen comics in the Top 75 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had twenty-five comics in the Top 75 in November 2022.

It is all good news for DC Comics in the Top 75 compared to a year and two years ago. DC Comics is doing its best to try and find its testicles and stand up to Marvel Comics rather than just meekly taking a beating every single month. The month-to-month sales dip makes me feel that this is just a temporary sales rally rather than a sign of sustainable sales success in the future for DC Comics.

Image Comics placed five comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the seven comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Image Comics had eight comics in the Top 75 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Image Comics had six comics in the Top 75 in November 2022.

The sales numbers are rough for Image Comics compared to a year ago and two years ago. Part of this is because Image Comics published fewer Hasbro-related titles than in past months.

Dynamite Entertainment placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were flat from the two comics that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 75 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 75 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 75 in November 2022.

Space Ghost #7 climbed from the number 63 spot to the number 57 spot. Wow. That is amazing. First, I would have never expected Space Ghost to still be in the Top 75 by its seventh issue. However, what is stunning is that Space Ghost #7 climbed up in the rankings! This is phenomenal. There is no way that Dynamite Entertainment was expecting this old 1960s Hannah-Barbera property to perform this well in the sales charts. Space Ghost is slapping around plenty of big-name Marvel Comics and DC Comics characters in the sales chart!

Terminator #2 fell from the number 22 spot to the number 62 spot. Welp. That was fast. I thought Terminator had a shot of remaining in the Top 50 for a few months. It looks like this title will struggle to stay in the Top 75 next month.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were flat from the two comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 75 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 75 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 75 in November 2022.

BOOM! Studios placed one comic in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that BOOM! Studios had in the Top 75 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as BOOM! Studios had zero comics in the Top 75 in November 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago as BOOM! Studios had one comic in the Top 75 in November 2022.

The Battle for the Top 100

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 76-100 range typically sell in the 24,000 to 18,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed fifty comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the fifty-one comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had fifty-seven comics in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had fifty-six comics in the Top 100 in November 2022.

The news continues to be negative for Marvel Comics as they are down compared to last month, last year, and two years ago. There is not much to be excited about for Marvel Comics in the November 2024 sales chart. All the House of the Mouse can hope for is that this month was an odd sales blip and that things will return to normal in short order.

DC Comics placed thirty-three comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were flat from the thirty-three comics that DC Comics had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as DC Comics had twenty-five comics in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago, as DC Comics had thirty-three comics in the Top 100 in November 2022.

DC Comics should be happy with their performance in the Top 100 in November 2024. There is a lot to be encouraged about. Of course, it will be pivotal that DC Comics use this month to build a sustainable foundation going forward.

Image Comics placed eight comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the nine comics that Image Comics had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down, as Image Comics had twelve comics in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Image Comics had seven comics in the Top 100 in November 2022.

Rocketfellers #1 debuted at the number 91 spot. I was excited for this title. Peter Tomasi is the writer and I have always loved his work. However, the cherry on top was Francis Manapul providing the artwork!

Dynamite Entertainment placed four comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were flat from the two comics that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 100 in November 2022.

DuckTales #1 debuted at the number 86 spot. I loved the old 1980s DuckTales cartoon when I was a kid. It looks like readers’ appetite for any property from the 1980s remains strong.

ThunderCats #10 climbed up from the number 135 spot to the number 97 spot. This was a great rebound for ThunderCats as it got back into the Top 100. This is another 1980s property enjoying good sales success and beating out plenty of Marvel and DC titles.

Dark Horse Comics placed two comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Dark Horse Comics had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as Dark Horse Comics had one comic in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dark Horse Comics had one comic in the Top 100 in November 2022.

Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull #2 climbed up from the number 117 spot to the number 90 spot. This is an excellent sign for this four-issue mini-series. Yet again, we see more 1980s properties outperforming titles from Marvel Comics and DC Comics. This is a recurring theme in the sales chart.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the three comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 100 in November 2022.

BOOM! Studios placed one comic in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the one comic that BOOM! Studios had in the Top 100 in October 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as BOOM! Studios had two comics in the Top 100 in November 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as BOOM! Studios had three comics in the Top 100 in November 2022.

The Joshua Williamson Award For The Writer With The Most Titles In The Top 50

Three writers had two issues from the same title in the Top 50.

Gail Simone had two issues with Uncanny X-Men #5 at the number 8 spot and Uncanny X-Men #6 at the number 22 spot.

Joe Kelly had two issues with Amazing Spider-Man #61 at the number 5 spot and Amazing Spider-Man #62 at the number 26 spot.

Al Ewing had two issues with Venom War #4, which was at the number 25 spot, and Venom War #5, which was at the number 50 spot.

One writer had two issues from different titles in the Top 50.

Jonathan Hickman had two issues from Ultimate Spider-Man #11 at the number 4 spot and Aliens Vs. Avengers #2 at the number 10 spot. Hickman was also honored to be the only writer to place two issues from different titles in the Top 10! That is amazing. Among current comic book writers, Hickman is still at the top of the heap.

Three writers had three issues from different titles in the Top 50.

Scott Snyder had three issues with Absolute Batman #2 at the number 2 spot, Absolute Batman #1 at the number 17 spot, and Absolute Batman Noir Edition #1 at the number 23 spot.

Kelly Thompson had three issues with Absolute Wonder Woman #2 at the number 6 spot, Absolute Wonder Woman #1 at the number 16 spot, and Venom War: It’s Jeff #1 at the number 44 spot.

Jed MacKay had three issues with X-Men #7 at the number 11 spot, Avengers #20 at the number 32 spot, and Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #2 at the number 35 spot.

However, one writer ruled above all with four issues from different titles in the Top 50.

Mark Waid had four issues with Justice League Unlimited #1 at the number 7 spot, Batman and Robin Year One #2 at the number 31 spot, Action Comics #1075 at the number 45 spot, and Action Comics #1074 at the number 47 spot.

Therefore, the winner of the Joshua Williamson Award for November 2024 is…Mark Waid! Yeah, Waid may be a crazy old man who says weird stuff on social media. And, sure, Waid may be retiring because somehow the person elected President of the United States impacts his ability to write superhero comic books. But, the fact is, this old guy still has his sales mojo and can still sell comic books at an impressive rate.

Battle of the Franchises

The X-Men franchise took first place with one comic in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and thirteen comics in the Top 50.

The Spider-Man franchise tied for second place with two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50.

The Batman franchise tied for second place with one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50.

The Absolute Universe took fourth place with three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50.

The Justice League franchise took fifth place with two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Side note, this is the first time we have seen DC Comics win the Battle of the Franchises. Up to now, Marvel Comics has always won this section.

Big Events

Venom War

25 Venom War #4

30 Venom #39

44 Venom War: It’s Jeff #1

50 Venom War #5

85 Venom War: Spider-Man #4

103 Venom War: Deadpool #3

104 Venom War: Wolverine #3

160 Venom War: Lethal Protectors #3

Venom War had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was better than October 2024, when Venom War had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.

Venom War #4 climbed from the number 62 spot to the number 25 spot. Venom War #5 fell from the number 25 spot to the number 50 spot. With this issue, Venom War has concluded. This Spider-Man big event did not set the sales chart on fire, but it was certainly a good-selling comic. In the end, concluding in the Top 50 makes this big event a success.

Venom #39 climbed from the number 41 spot to the number 30 spot. This title continues to be a Top 50 seller each month.

Venom War: It’s Jeff #1 debuted at the number 44 spot. This was a solid debut for this one-shot issue starring everyone’s favorite land shark. Even I have to admit that Jeff is pretty cute.

Venom War: Spider-Man #4 climbed from the number 177 spot to the number 85 spot. Not shipping two issues this month helped this title in the sales rankings. With this issue, this four-issue mini-series has concluded. Venom War: Spioder-Man was a huge sales disappointment. Chalk this up as another in a long line of sales failures from Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly.

Venom War: Deadpool #3 fell from the number 89 spot to the number 103 spot. With this issue, this three-issue mini-series has concluded. Venom War: Deadpool was another sales failure for Marvel Comics.

Venom War: Wolverine #3 fell from the number 79 spot to the number 104 spot. With this issue, this three-issue mini-series has concluded. Venom War: Wolverine was also a sales failure.

Venom War: Lethal Protectors #3 plummeted from the number 121 spot to the number 160 spot. With this issue, this three-issue mini-series has concluded. Hollywood screenwriter Sabir Prizada continues to be a complete sales failure for Marvel Comics.

All in all, while the main Venom War title did well, all of the Venom War tie-in titles were total sales failures for Marvel Comics.

Conquest 2099

149 Conquest 2099 #3

Conquest 2099 had zero comics in the Top 50. This was the same as in October 2024, when Conquest 2099 had zero comics in the Top 50.

Conquest 2099 #3 fell from the number 140 spot to the number 149 spot. Steve Orlando’s 2099 universe big event comic continues to be a miserable sales failure.

Hasbro Franchise

3 GI Joe #1

14 Transformers #14

87 Void Rivals #14

105 GI Joe A Real American Hero #311

187 Void Rivals #13 (Resolicitation)

192 Transformers #13 (Resolicitation)

The Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was worse than in October 2024 when the Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

GI Joe #1 had a monster debut taking the number 3 spot. Ten open order covers, three reprint covers, six incentive covers, a mind-bending thirty-nine retailer covers, and one event exclusive cover. Sweet baby Jesus. That is an insane amount of variant covers!

Baroness is featured the most as she gets thirteen variant covers featuring her alone. Yeah, I think her new costume looks like crap compared to her iconic classic costume. You cannot improve upon perfection. Having said that, my favorite cover is the Cedric Poulat cover. Phenomenal.

I am bullish about GI Joe. Joshua Williamson had excellent sales success with his prior GI Joe mini-series for Image Comics. I would expect the same for this new GI Joe comic.

Transformers #14 fell from the number 5 spot to the number 14 spot. This is the lowest in the sales ranking this title has had since it debuted.

Void Rivals #14 plummeted from the number 37 spot to the number 87 spot. This is not that unusual for this title as it has seen wild fluctuations in its sales numbers in the past.

GI Joe A Real American Hero #311 ticked up from the number 109 spot to the number 105 spot. This is the second straight month that this title has been outside of the Top 100.

Spawn Franchise

96 Gunslinger Spawn #37

106 King Spawn #39

134 Spawn Violator #3 (Of 6)

135 Spawn Scorched #35

143 Spawn #358

166 Spawn Sam and Twitch Case Files #8

169 Spawn #359

181 Spawn Rat City #8

The Spawn franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was the same as in October 2024, when the Spawn franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.

Gunslinger Spawn #37 dipped from the number 81 spot to the number 96 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this title has remained in the Top 100.

King Spawn #39 shot up the rankings going from being unranked to taking the number 106 spot. What an impressive rebound for this title!

Spawn Violator #3 fell from the number 112 spot to the number 134 spot.

Spawn Scorched #35 fell from the number 105 spot to the number 135 spot. Damn. I was hoping this title was on course to sneak back into the Top 100.

Spawn #359 fell from the number 117 spot to the number 169 spot. The main Spawn title continues to get outsold by several of the spin-off Spawn titles.

Spawn Sam and Twitch Case Files #8 ticked up from the number 165 spot to the number 166 spot.

Spawn Rat City #8 plummeted from the number 141 spot to the number 181 spot. Erica Schultz’s title continues to be the lowest-selling Spawn franchise comic.

Ghost Machine Titles

71 Geiger #8

133 Hyde Street #2

Ghost Machine had zero comics in the Top 50. This was worse than in October 2024, when Ghost Machine had one comic in the Top 50.

Geiger #8 fell from the number 51 spot to the number 71 spot.

Hyde Street #2 fell from the number 102 spot to the number 133 spot. That is less of a drop than I expected given the low debut number for this title.

Star Wars Franchise

75 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #4 Insurgency Rising (Marvel Comics)

120 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #5 Republic Under Siege (Marvel Comics)

131 Star Wars: Ahsoka #5 (Marvel Comics)

137 Star Wars: Ewoks #2 (Marvel Comics)

183 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #6 Republic Under Siege (Marvel Comics)

190 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #3 Insurgency Rising (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #12 (Dark Horse Comics)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #2 (Dark Horse Comics)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Repbublic Adventures – Echoes of Fear #3 (Dark Horse Comics)

The Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was the same as in October 2024, when the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were down by a wide margin from two years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #4 Insurgency Rising ticked up from the number 76 spot to the number 75 spot. Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #5 Republic Under Siege dropped from the number 75 spot to the number 120 spot. 183 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #6 Republic Under Siege fell from the number 120 spot to the number 183 spot.

Alex Segura’s twelve-issue limited series appears to be shedding readers at a quick rate. It looks like Star Wars is going to have another Dead Title Walking on its hands with Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #5 fell from the number 99 spot to the number 131 spot. After a one-month reprieve, Star Wars: Ahsoka finds itself resolutely inside of the Dead Titles Walking category. This eight-issue mini-series is likely concluding as a dead title walking.

Star Wars: Ewoks #2 plummetted from the number 70 spot to the number 137 spot. It is no surprise that Star Wars: Ewoks is a dead title walking with just the second issue given the weak debut number last month. I figured this was going to happen given that Steve Orlando is the writer. First, Orlando always struggles to have any sales success. Second, Orlando is a weird choice to write a Star Wars comic.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #12 was unranked again. Nothing from Daniel José Older interests comic book readers.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #2 was unranked. There is no surprise that nobody is interested in this comic book. Alyssa Wong is the writer and she has never had anything resembling sales success in mainstream comic books.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Echoes of Fear #3 was unranked. George Mann is the writer and Mann is another novelist who is being shoe-horned into writing mainstream comic books. The results are predictably poor.

The Star Wars franchise is complete ashes right now. This is as low as we have seen this franchise ever since Marvel Comics started publishing Star Wars comics after Disney purchased Lucasfilm. The Star Wars franchise used to get strong sales numbers. It is stunning to see how this once mighty franchise has completely fallen off a sales cliff.

The problems are multiple. First, Lucasfilm keeps hiring terrible writers to write these comic books. Second, The High Republic initiative has been a spectacular failure across the board. Nobody cares about it. Third, it appears the decision to move the focus of the comic books from the original trilogy seems to have generated little reader excitement.

Unranked: Spider-Man: Homeroom Heroes

The Spider-Man franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50. This was flat compared to October 2024, when the Spider-Man franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as the Spider-Man franchise had four comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25 but up in the Top 50 from two years ago as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Let’s start with the pride and joy of Marvel Comics: Peter Parker.

Amazing Spider-Man #61 took the number 5 spot and Amazing Spider-Man #62 took the number 26 spot. This was better for the first issue but worse for the second issue compared to last month when the two issues of Amazing Spider-Man took the number 9 and 16 spots.

Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood #4 fell from the number 45 spot to the number 55 spot. With this issue, this mini-series has concluded. All in all, this mini-series was a solid seller for Marvel Comics.

Spectacular Spider-Men #9 dipped from the number 54 spot to the number 58 spot. This is the third consecutive month this title has sold outside the Top 50.

Spider-Man Reign 2 #5 fell from the number 67 spot to the number 93 spot. This is almost the exact same spot in the sales rankings that this title had in September 2024.

Spider-Man: Homeroom Heroes #2 was unranked for the second straight month.

Okay, let’s check out the knock-off Spider-Men.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #26 plummeted from the number 38 spot to the number 78 spot. Welp, I guess the readers who hopped aboard the last issue due to Black Panther’s guest appearance were not impressed enough with what they read to convince them to stay on this title going forward.

Spider-Boy #13 crashed from the number 21 spot to the number 92 spot. It appears that the readers who bought the last issue due to Daredevil’s guest appearance were not enticed to stay on this title going forward. You know, these guest appearances make for nice one-issue sales numbers but they do not add new readers.

Spider-Society #4 ticked up from the number 104 spot to the number 102 spot. This title cannot escape the Dead Titles Walking category.

Chasm: Curse of Kaine #4 fell from the number 167 spot to the number 176 spot. With this issue, this four-issue mini-series has concluded. This Steve Foxe title was a total sales failure for Marvel Comics.

Kid Venom #3 fell from the number 118 spot to the number 130 spot. This four-issue mini-series is doomed to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category. This is amazing considering that this title debuted so well at the number 17 spot.

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #7 climbed from the number 161 spot to the number 73 spot. This title continues to wildly fluctuate all over the sales chart. I would expect to see it settle down and remain outside of the Top 75 going forward.

The X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and thirteen comics in the Top 50. This was down in the Top 10, up in the Top 25, and up in the Top 50 than in October 2024, when the X-Men franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and twelve comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and ten comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Uncanny X-Men #5 fell from the number 4 spot to the number 8 spot. Uncanny X-Men #6 fell from the number 8 spot to the number 22 spot. This is the lowest we have seen Uncanny X-Men in the sales charts. Obviously, it is due to shipping two issues in the same month. There is no doubt that the next issue of Uncanny X-Men should be back in the Top 10.

X-Men #7 held steady at the number 11 spot which is the same spot in the sales ranking it had in October 2024. I am curious to see if we see a flip in the rankings between X-Men and Uncanny X-Men next month.

Exceptional X-Men #3 fell from the number 13 spot to the number 29 spot. I am not surprised that Exception X-Men is the weakest-selling title out of the three core X-Men titles. Eve Ewing moonlighting as a mainstream comic book writer is a weird career choice for this sociology professor. Everything Ewing has ever written has been a sales failure. I am not sure that even the unparalleled brand power of the X-Men can carry Ewing to sustained sales success.

X-Force #5 dipped from the number 32 spot to the number 34 spot. This is impressive as X-Force continues to outperform in the sales chart compared to my expectations. Geoffrey Thorne is clearly making readers happy with his story.

NYX #5 climbed from the number 75 spot to the number 42 spot. Wow! That is a nice rebound for Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly. These two never have any sales success. Could NYX change that? We shall see.

X-Factor #4 held steady at the number 43 spot which is the same spot that this title had in October 2024. While X-Factor is the lowest-selling of the ongoing X-Men franchise team titles, the fact that it is still in the Top 50 is a testament to the huge success of this X-Men franchise relaunch.

Sentinels #2 crashed and burned falling from the number 39 spot to the number 109 spot. Ouch. This five-issue mini-series became a dead title walking quickly. This was predictable as Alex Paknadel is the writer and he has never had sales success in the past.

Let’s check out the fellas of the X-Men franchise.

Wolverine #3 fell from the number 6 spot to the number 18 spot. Yikes. That is more of a drop than I was anticipating for this ultra-popular mutant. Next month is going to be big. Marvel Comics will not want to see this title selling outside of the Top 25 by just the fourth issue.

Deadpool #8 climbed from the number 56 spot to the number 38 spot. Given how mainstream Deadpool is I am sure Marvel Comics wants to see this title in the Top 50 every month.

Psylocke #1 had an excellent debut taking the number 12 spot. I have always been a big fan of Psylocke so I want to see her character do well. Unfortunately, Alyssa Wong is the writer of this title and Wong has never had any sales success. I have never seen a writer fail upward as much as Wong. Anyway, I am not that bullish on this title going forward. We shall see.

Phoenix #5 dropped from the number 44 spot to the number 48 spot. This title is clinging to the Top 50 by its fingertips!

Storm #2 fell from the number 25 spot to the number 36 spot. This is much better than I had anticipated. Given Storm #1 unimpressive debut number, I felt that there was a good chance that we would see a big drop between the first and second issues. Such a small drop for the second issue may be a good sign that this title can remain in the Top 75 every month.

Mystique #2 crashed and burned falling from the number 26 spot to the number 121 spot. See my thoughts on Storm above. That is why I was so impressed with Storm #2’s rankings. Normally, you see what we got here with Mystique #2. This five-issue mini-series is already a dead title walking with just the second issue. This won’t get better going forward.

Dazzler #3 plummeted from the number 65 spot to the number 140 spot. Good lord! Dazzler has shed readers at an alarming rate. Remember that Dazzler #1 debuted at the number 15 spot! Jason Loo has driven readers off in a rapid fashion. This four-issue mini-series is going to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead #1 had an abysmal debut failing to even make the Top 100 and coming in at the number 157 spot. Once again, the Marvel Comics editors seem out of touch with what their readership wants.

The Avengers franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was flat compared to October 2024, when the Avengers franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Aliens vs. Avengers #2 climbed from the number 14 spot to the number 10 spot. That is an impressive showing for the second issue of this four-issue mini-series. Jonathan Hickman continues to be the gold standard of comic book writers.

West Coast Avengers #1 debuted at the number 27 spot. This was a soft debut as I am sure Marvel Comics was hoping for a Top 25 debut. I love this roster of characters so I am on board this new title until Gerry Duggan disappoints me.

Avengers #20 climbed from the number 40 spot to the number 32 spot. This arrested two straight months of declines in the sales chart for this title.

Avengers Assemble #3 dropped from the number 83 spot to the number 100 spot. This five-issue mini-series will be a dead title walking next month. Once again, Steve Orlando struggles to have any sales success.

Let’s check out the boys of the Avengers franchise.

Immortal Thor #17 shot up from the number 129 spot to the number 53 spot. This was expected since Immortal Thor shipped two issues in September 2024. Having said that, Immortal Thor #15 was at the number 36 spot in September 2024, so this title still has to make some additional gains to get back to where it was in the sales chart.

Predator vs. Black Panther #4 climbed from the number 107 spot to the number 70 spot. With this issue, this four-issue mini-series has concluded. It is nice to see that this title ended on a positive note by climbing back into the Top 75. However, overall, this title ended far off the pace from its debut at the number 21 spot.

Iron Man #2 crashed and burned falling from the number 8 spot down to the number 65 spot. Brutal. I am not at all surprised by this spectacular fall in the rankings. Hiring political journalist Spencer Ackerman to write a mainstream superhero comic book is the kind of idiotic move from Marvel Comics’ editorial staff that never works out.

Incredible Hulk #19 fell from the number 47 spot to the number 77 spot. This is the fifth straight month that this title has dropped in the rankings. This once-hot title has become ice-cold.

Captain America #15 climbed from the number 100 spot to the number 84 spot. With the next issue, this failed JMS experiment on Captain America will mercifully come to an end.

Let’s end with the ladies of the Avengers franchise.

Marvel & Disney What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel #1 debuted at the number 72 spot. That is crazy! These Classic Disney characters What If?… issues have sold far better than I could have imagined! This is a better sales ranking than a Carol Danvers Captain Marvel comic. That’s because Minnie Mouse is lovable. Everyone likes her!

Scarlet Witch #6 climbed from the number 85 spot to the number 61 spot. This marks the second consecutive month that Scarlet Witch has climbed up in the sales rankings.

The Ultimate Universe

4 Ultimate Spider-Man #11

9 Ultimates #6

20 Ultimate X-Men #9

63 Ultimate Black Panther #10

66 Ultimate X-Men #8 (Resolicitation)

88 Ultimate Spider-Man #10 (Resolicitation)

The Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was flat in the Top 10, up in the Top 25, and down in the Top 50 compared to October 2024, when the Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Ultimate Spider-Man #11 ticked down from the number 3 spot to the number 4 spot. Hickman’s Ultimate Spider-Man is just a total sales beast. This title can shrug off all competition. Is the market flooded by a torrent of new X-Men franchise titles? No problem. Ultimate Spider-Man remains in the Top 5. Is the market hit by Absolute Universe titles? Not an issue. Ultimate Spider-Man remains in the Top 5. Nothing is going to derail Hickman’s Ultimate Spider-Man. This title is inevitable.

Ultimates #6 ticked down from the number 7 spot to the number 9 spot. This title continues to surprise as it will not relinquish its iron grip on the Top 10.

Ultimate X-Men #9 climbed from the number 29 spot to the number 20 spot. This arrested Ultimate X-Men’s fall in the sales rankings. This is not a surprise as I predicted that this title would rebound and climb back into the Top 25 this month.

Ultimate Black Panther #10 climbed from the number 79 spot to the number 63 spot. I expected a rebound since Black Panther shipped two issues in September 2024. But, this rebound was much smaller than I expected. Ultimate Black Panther #8 took the number 24 spot. So, Ultimate Black Panther is still selling far off its normal pace. The next few months will be critical as this title might be the first crack in the Ultimate Universe’s armor.

The Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50. This was worse than in October 2024, when the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10 but up in the Top 25 and Top 50 as the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Let’s kick it off with the man himself Bruce Wayne.

Batman #154 climbed from the number 20 spot to the number 13 spot. This was a surprise. Batman always clocks in inside the Top 10 unless it ships two issues in the same month. In September 2024, Batman #152 took the number 6 spot and Batman #153 took the number 20 spot. The fact that Batman failed to muscle itself back into the Top 10 is a shocker. It appears that the power of the Absolute Universe, the Ultimate Universe, and the X-Men franchise created a barrier too strong for even Batman to break through.

Batman the Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #3 fell from the number 23 spot to the number 37 spot. It is starting to look unlikely that this ten-issue limited series is going to be able to remain in the Top 50 until it concludes.

Batman Full Moon #2 fell from the number 17 spot to the number 39 spot. It looks like this four-issue mini-series may be outside of the Top 50 next month.

Detective Comics #1091 plummeted from the number 20 spot to the number 52 spot. Ouch. It looks like replacing Ram V with Tom Taylor only led to a single-issue sales bump. Evidently, many readers were not impressed with what Taylor brought to the table. Maybe this title will be able to rebound in the next few months.

Batman Superman World’s Finest #33 dropped from the number 48 spot to the number 54 spot. This is the first time this title has sold outside of the Top 50. Next month will be huge as we see if this is just a one-month aberration or the beginning of a new sales trend for this title.

Batman Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age #6 fell from the number 58 spot to the number 64 spot. With this issue, this limited series has concluded. This title ended up being an average seller for DC Comics.

Batman Santa Claus Silent Knight Returns #1 debuted at the number 83 spot. This was a poor debut for this five-issue mini-series. This should be a dead title walking in the next month.

Batman Dark Age #6 climbed from the number 146 spot to the number 110 spot. With this issue, this mini-series has concluded. Batman Dark Age was a predictable sales failure for DC Comics. Mark Russell continues to struggle to have any sales success.

Dark Knights of Steel Allwinter #5 fell from the number 98 spot to the number 113 spot. This six-issue mini-series finally succumbs as it falls into the Dead Titles Walking category. This is likely where this mini-series will conclude next month.

Little Batman Month One #1 had an abysmal debut coming in at the number 184 spot. This four-issue mini-series should end up being unranked.

Unranked: Batman: The Brave and the Bold #19 fell from the number 168 spot and right out of the Top 200 and ended up unranked. Welp. That was quick. So ends the one-month stint of this title being ranked in the Top 200.

Let’s hop over to the Dynamic Duo titles.

Batman and Robin Year One #2 fell from the number 14 spot to the number 31 spot. This was a bit more of a drop than I anticipated. It looks like this twelve-issue limited series will be out of the Top 50 in the next couple of months.

Batman and Robin #15 fell from the number 57 spot to the number 67 spot. Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s joining the comic book has led to increased sales. Before Jonshon joined, Batman and Robin #13 was down at the number 103 spot.

Let’s check out the sole bat-boy title.

Nightwing #120 cratered falling from the number 30 spot to the number 81 spot. That is brutal. Dan Watters taking over as writer has led to a huge sales drop. Nightwing is normally a consistent Top 50 seller.

Batgirl #1 scored a solid debut taking the number 19 spot. Tate Brombal is the writer of this new title. I have never heard of Brombal before. I have never seen anything he has written appear in the Top 200. I am not that bullish on this title. First, Brombal is an unknown commodity so I am unsure if he can generate sales. Second, all of the other prior Batgirl titles have been sales failures. Having said that, there is always a first time for everything. So, we shall see how this title does in the next few months.

Let’s finish up with the ladies of the Batman franchise.

Birds of Prey #15 climbed from the number 159 spot to the number 98 spot. This title is starting to struggle to stay in the Top 100. I predicted that this title would struggle to stay in the Top 75 after the fifth issue. I will give Birds of Prey credit. It did stay longer in the Top 75 for a few more issues than I predicted. However, it appears that the inevitable has happened. This is what we have come to expect from most titles written by Kelly Thompson.

Catwoman #70 crashed and burned falling from the number 73 spot to the number 124 spot. This is even worse than Catwoman #68, Tini Howard’s last issue, which took the number 116 spot. It looks like Torunn Grønbekk coming on as writer led to just a single-issue sales bump. I am not that surprised. I was not bullish on Grømbekk taking over Catwoman given her lack of sustained sales success on her other mainstream superhero comic books. It seems like poor Catwoman just cannot catch a break when it comes to writers on her title.

Unranked: My Adventures with Superman #6

The Superman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was up in the Top 10 and flat in the Top 25 and Top 50 than in October 2024 when the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up in the Top 10 and Top 25 and flat in the Top 50 as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Action Comics #1075 took the number 45 spot, Action Comics #1074 took the number 47 spot, Action Comics #1076 took the number 59 spot, and Action Comics #1077 took the number 115 spot. These four issues of Action Comics averaged the number 67 spot.

This is slightly worse than October 2024 when Action Comics #1070 took the number 35 spot, Action Comics #1071 took the number 61 spot, Action Comics #1072 took the number 64 spot, and Action Comics #1073 took the number 97 spot. Those four issues of Action Comics averaged the number 64 spot.

Superman #20 dropped from the number 24 spot to the number 56 spot. This was terrible news for DC Comics. Except for October and September 2024, Superman has lived in the Top 25. This is the first time Superman has sold outside of the Top 50. Before this month the lowest that Superman has been in the sales ranking has been the number 28 spot.

Unranked: My Adventures with Superman #6 was unranked. This is the third straight issue that has gone unranked. With this issue, this six-issue mini-series has concluded. Four of the six issues went unranked. The two issues that made the sales ranking were both in the Dead Titles Walking category. This mini-series from Josie Campbell was a horrendous sales disaster. Why DC Comics editors keep hiring Campbell to write mainstream superhero comics is utterly beyond me.

Power Girl #15 plummeted from the number 124 spot to the number 179 spot. This title has been a lock for the Dead Titles Walking category ever since it debuted. I am bewildered why DC Comics did not pull Leah Williams off this title when they rolled out the All In initiative. Power Girl is such a cool character and it would be great to see DC Comics support her character with a real mainstream superhero comic book writer.

116 Green Arrow 2024 Annual #1 (One-Shot)

145 Green Arrow #18

172 The Flash #15

The Justice League franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50. This was better than October 2024 when the Justice League franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Justice League Unlimited #1 had an excellent debut taking the number 7 spot. If Waid does not retire in the next few months then this title has the chance to remain a consistent Top 25 seller. Do not underestimate crazy old man Waid. The guy can still sell comics at an impressive rate.

As a longtime Justice League of America fan, I love seeing this glorious franchise back and better than ever. I hope this title enjoys wonderful sales success.

JSA #1 had an average debut taking the number 24 spot. This low debut does indicate that this title may struggle to stay in the Top 50 for more than a few months. I love Jeff Lemire’s writing, but this roster leaves me wanting.

I love that Alan Scott, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl are on this roster. It is also great to see Rick Tyler on the roster. However, adding Jade and Obsidian to the roster gives this title more Infinity Inc. vibes rather than JSA vibes. Also, the roster has the unpopular versions of Dr. Fate, Wildcat, and Dr. Mid-Nite. Those three mantle-swaps of those iconic heroes have always been failures.

Green Lantern #17 fell from the number 55 spot to the number 69 spot. Adding the All-In banner to the cover of this title has actually led to this title falling in the sales rankings. This is disappointing news for DC Comics. The Green Lantern franchise needs to be a consistent Top 50 seller.

Black Lightning #1 had a horrendous debut taking the number 95 spot. This title will be a dead title walking by just its second issue. I love Black Lightning’s character, but I was unimpressed with this new title. I have no interest in Jefferson’s daughters. I would rather read a Black Lightning comic book that focuses on…Black Lightning.

On top of that, the writing was so generic. There was nothing to hook you into the story and get you wanting to come back for more. Brandon Thomas is the writer. He has written many indie comics. I had never heard of him before. What I got with this debut issue did not fill me with confidence.

Plastic Man No More #3 climbed from the number 184 spot to the number 101 spot. This title did ship two issues in September 2024. It looks like this four-issue mini-series is going to conclude next month in the Dead Title Walking category.

Green Arrow 2024 Annual #1 had an awful debut taking the number 116 spot.

Green Arrow #18 plummeted from the number 72 spot to the number 145 spot. The All-In initiative led to just a single issue sales bump. Green Arrow #18 is back to where Green Arrow #16 was when it took the number 134 spot.

The Flash #15 crashed and burned falling from the number 87 spot to the number 172 spot. Again, as we have seen over and over, the All-In initiative led to just a one-month sales bump. The Flash #15 sold even worse than Flash #13 which took the number 126 spot.

Wonder Woman #15 fell from the number 19 spot to the number 41 spot. This is a bit alarming. To this point, Tom King’s Wonder Woman has not sold outside of the Top 25. DC Comics cannot afford this title to cool off and start struggling to make the Top 50. This could be just a temporary sales lull. Next month is going to be pivotal.

Black Canary Best of the Best #1 had a terrible debut coming in at the number 68 spot. This six-issue mini-series is going to have a tough time staying out of the Dead Titles Walking category. This is another Tom King comic. I am not surprised by the bad debut number. King has had little sales success when not paired with Batman and Wonder Woman. King is not the kind of “big-name” writer who can sell issues based on his name alone.

The Absolute Universe

1 Absolute Superman #1

2 Absolute Batman #2

6 Absolute Wonder Woman #2

16 Absolute Wonder Woman #1 (Resolicitation)

17 Absolute Batman #1 (Resolicitation)

23 Absolute Batman Noir Edition #1 (One-Shot)

128 DC All-In Special #1 (One-Shot) (Resolicitation)

The Absolute Universe had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50. This was better than October 2024 when the Absolute Universe had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Absolute Superman #1 destroyed all competitors and took the number 1 spot. What an amazing debut for this Jason Aaron title. Aaron has been tough to handicap over the past several years as he has become wildly streaky. Aaron is just as likely to hit a home run as he is to strike out swinging. Having said that there is a ton of fan interest in the Absolute Universe so I would expect this title to remain in the Top 10 for the foreseeable future.

Absolute Batman #2 ticked down from the number 1 spot to the number 2 spot. You are just not going to beat a comic book written by Scott Snyder and starring Bruce Wayne. That is always a winning formula.

Absolute Wonder Woman #2 dropped from the number 2 spot to the number 6 spot. Kelly Thompson’s title is the lowest-selling of the Absolutel Universe titles. But, it is still a Top 10 title! That is incredible. This highlights the massive sales power of the Absolute Universe right out of the gate.

Supernatural Comics

35 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #2 (Marvel Comics)

79 Werewolf by Night Red Band #4 (Marvel Comics)

82 DC Vs Vampires World War V #4 (Of 12) (DC Comics)

162 Blood Hunters #4 (Marvel Comics)

177 Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay #3 (Marvel Comics)

185 Spirits of Vengeance #3 (Marvel Comics)

191 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #1 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in the Top 50 by a score of 1-0. Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in the Top 100 by a score of 3-1.

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #2 dropped from the number 12 spot to the number 35 spot. That was a steeper drop than I anticipated. Jed MacKay has managed to make Moon Knight a consistent strong seller during his time at the helm of this franchise. So, I am not ready to think that this title is going to struggle to stay in the Top 50.

Phases of the Moon Knight #4 ticked up from the number 96 spot to the number 94 spot. With this issue, this four-issue mini-series has concluded. This title was a sales disappointment for Marvel Comics.

Werewolf by Night Red Band #4 dipped from the number 77 spot to the number 79 spot. Honestly, I am impressed that this title has managed to remain in the Top 100 with its fourth issue. This is the most sales success we have seen Jason Loo enjoy up to this point.

Blade: Red Band #2 crashed and burned falling from the number 18 spot to the number 127 spot. This is brutal. It looks like Bryan Hill’s lack of sales success outside of Ultimate Black Panther will continue.

Blood Hunters #4 fell from the number 142 spot to the number 162 spot. This Erica Schultz comic continues to be a sales failure. This is what we have come to expect from Schultz.

Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay #3 fell from the number 126 spot to the number 177 spot. The Marvel Zombies franchise continues to deliver lower and lower returns with each mini-series.

Spirits of Vengeance #3 cratered falling from the number 118 spot to the number 185 spot. Hollywood writer Sabir Pirzada continues to have no sales success at all in his weird foray into mainstream superhero comic books.

DC Vs Vampires World War V #4 dropped from the number 68 spot to the number 82 spot. This twelve-issue limited series is going to end up in the Dead Titles Walking category.

DC Horror Presents Creature Commandos #2 plummeted from the number 62 spot to the number 158 spot. This six-issue mini-series is going to struggle to remain ranked at its conclusion. Hiring a Hollywood actor as the writer certainly did not work out for DC Comics on this title.

Mantle Swap Comics

38 Deadpool #8 (Marvel Comics)

49 Question All Along The Watchtower #1 (Of 6) (DC Comics)

78 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #26 (Marvel Comics)

94 Phases of the Moon Knight #4 (Marvel Comics)

161 Phases of the Moon Knight #3 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

There were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was better than October 2024 when there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25 and flat in the Top 50 as there were one mantle swap comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were down in the Top 25 but up in the Top 50 from two years ago as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2022.

Question All Along The Watchtower #1 had a bad debut barely making the Top 50 by taking the number 49 spot. Unfortunately, this six-issue limited series stars the wrong Question. Instead of Vic Sage, we get Renee Montoya, who has never sold well. Further complicating the matter is that Alex Segura is the writer and has never enjoyed any sales success. All of this makes me believe that this title will be in the Dead Titles Walking category in short order.

Legacy Character Comics

19 Batgirl #1 (DC Comics)

24 JSA #1 (DC Comics)

42 NYX #5 (Marvel Comics)

80 Titans #17 (DC Comics)

81 Nightwing #120 (DC Comics)

92 Spider-Boy #13 (Marvel Comics)

98 Birds of Prey #15 (DC Comics)

163 Nightwing #119 (DC Comics) (Resoclitation)

172 The Flash #15 (DC Comics)

179 Power Girl #15 (DC Comics)

There were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was better in the Top 25 but flat in the Top 50 compared to October 2024 when there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as there were one legacy character comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in November 2023.

Numbers were up in the Top 25 but flat in the Top 50 from two years ago, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in November 2022.

Titans #17 fell from the number 59 spot to the number 80 spot. The recurring theme of the All-In Initiative only leading to a one-month sales bump continues. Evidently, many readers were not impressed with what new writer John Layman had to offer. Perhaps this title will be able to rally next month.

There was one female lead comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50. This was better than Oin ctober 2024 when there was one female lead comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

DC Comics beat Marvel Comics by a score of 8-6. Finally! It is about time that DC Comics beat Marvel Comics in this category. I have always felt that DC Comics had the better female superheroes and it made no sense that Marvel Comics consistently kicked DC Comics’ ass in this category every month.

Kahhori Reshaper of Worlds A Marvel Voices Special #1 had a terrible debut coming in at the number 74 spot. Having said that, this is where we expect the Marvel Voices to clock in.

Jenny Sparks #4 fell from the number 127 spot to the number 151 spot. This Tom King mini-series continues to be a sales failure.

Marvel Comics and DC Comics fought to a 2-2 draw in the Top 50. However, Marvel Comics pummeled DC Comics by a score of 6-3 in the Top 100.

Milestone Universe: The Shadow Cabinet #1 had an embarrassing debut failing to make the Top 200 and going unranked. This is what we have come to expect from the Milestone banner.
