Marvel Comics placed six comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were down from the seven comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 10 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as Marvel Comics had five comics in the Top 10 in October 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago as Marvel Comics had seven comics in the Top 10 in October 2022.

Marvel Comics’ Top 10 success is diverse and based on the Ultimate Universe, the X-Men, the Spider-Man, and the Avengers franchises.

All three of DC Comics’ comics in the Top 10 were from the Absolute Universe. It would have been a rough month without this new franchise. It will be interesting to see if the Absolute Universe can consistently score in the Top 10 like several of the Ultimate Universe titles have done this year.

Image Comics placed one comic in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Image Comics had in the Top 10 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were flat as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 10 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 10 in October 2022.

Image Comics’ sole Top 10 comic was from the Hasbro franchise.

The Battle for the Top 25

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 11-25 range typically sell in the 65,000 to 50,000 unit range.

Image Comics placed two comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that Image Comics had in the Top 25 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 25 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 25 in October 2022.

Both of Image Comics’ Top 25 comics were from the Hasbro franchise. The Habsro license has become extremely important for Image Comics.

IDW Publishing placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were flat from the one comic that IDW Publishing had in the Top 25 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in October 2022.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3 ticked down from the number 13 spot to the number 15 spot. That is phenomenally consistent. This title shows the ability to be a consistent Top 25 seller.

Dynamite Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 25 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in October 2022.

Terminator #1 had a solid debut taking the number 22 spot. Dynamite Entertainment continues to benefit from several valuable licenses.

The Battle for the Top 50

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 26-50 range typically sell in the 49,000 to 30,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed twenty-eight comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the thirty-three comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 50 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had thirty-two comics in the Top 50 in October 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had thirty-four comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

There is some bad news here in the sales rankings for Marvel Comics. Sales are down by a wide margin across the board compared to a month ago, a year ago, and two years ago. It must be particularly alarming for Marvel Comics considering that these sales drops are occurring in the middle of a massive sales push from all of the new X-Men franchise titles flooding the market.

DC Comics placed fourteen comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the ten comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were flat, as DC Comics had fourteen comics in the Top 50 in October 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago, as DC Comics had fourteen comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Image Comics placed five comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were flat, compared to the five comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as Image Comics had four comics in the Top 50 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Four of Image Comics’ five comics were from the Hasbro franchise, and the fifth was from the Ghost Machine imprint. Image Comics would be in trouble without these titles.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that IDW Publishing had in the Top 50 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 50 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Both of IDW’s comics were from the TMNT franchise. IDW would be dead in the water without the TMNT license.

Dynamite Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 50 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 50 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

The Battle for the Top 75

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 51-75 range typically sell in the 29,000 to 25,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed thirty-six comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the forty-six comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 75 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had forty-five comics in the Top 75 in October 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago as Marvel Comics had fifty-one comics in the Top 75 in October 2022.

Marvel Comics suffered huge sales drops across the board compared to a month ago, a year ago, and two years ago. These are some huge losses in the Top 75. This is a direct result of DC Comics, Image Comics, Dynamite, and IDW making gains in the sales chart. I can only imagine how bad Marvel Comics’ sales numbers would have been without the huge push from all of the new X-Men franchise titles flooding the market.

DC Comics placed twenty-eight comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the seventeen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 75 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as DC Comics had twenty-four comics in the Top 75 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as DC Comics had eighteen comics in the Top 75 in October 2022.

The beleaguered publisher finally gets some good news as sales were up across the board compared to a month ago, a year ago, and two years ago. DC Comics is trying to show that they aren’t dead just yet.

Image Comics placed seven comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the nine comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as Image Comics had five comics in the Top 75 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Image Comics had four comics in the Top 75 in October 2022.

Four of Image Comics’ seven comics were from the Hasbro franchise, two were from the Ghost Machine imprint, and one was from the Universal Monsters franchise. Without these franchises, This highlights how smart it was for Image Comics to get aggressive in expanding past just publishing random niche comics.

Dynamite Entertainment placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 75 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 75 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 75 in October 2022.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that IDW Publishing had in the Top 75 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 75 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 75 in October 2022.

The Battle for the Top 100

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 76-100 range typically sell in the 24,000 to 18,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed fifty-one comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the fifty-eight comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had fifty-seven comics in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were down from two years ago as Marvel Comics had sixty-two comics in the Top 100 in October 2022.

Again, Marvel Comics suffered huge sales losses compared to a month ago, a year ago, and two years ago. Things are starting to get interesting in the battle for the Top 100 for the first time in a long time.

DC Comics placed thirty-three comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the twenty-four comics that DC Comics had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as DC Comics had thirty comics in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as DC Comics had twenty-eight comics in the Top 100 in October 2022.

Everything is looking up for DC Comics as it enjoyed sales increases across the board. This is rare positive news for DC Comics.

Image Comics placed nine comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the twelve comics that Image Comics had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were flat as Image Comics had nine comics in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Image Comics had six comics in the Top 100 in October 2022.

Four of Image Comics’ nine comics were from the Hasbro franchise, two were from the Ghost Machine imprint, one was from the Universal Monsters franchise, and one was from the Spawn franchise. Only one Image comic came from their collection of niche titles.

IDW Publishing placed three comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that IDW Publishing had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 100 in October 2022.

Dynamite Entertainment placed two comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers increased as Dynamite Entertainment had one comic in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 100 in October 2022.

BOOM! Studios placed one comic in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the one comic that BOOM! Studios had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were down as BOOM! Studios had two comics in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were flat from two years ago as BOOM! Studios had one comic in the Top 100 in October 2022.

Oni Press placed one comic in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the two comics that Oni Press had in the Top 100 in September 2024. Year-over-year numbers were up, as Oni Press had zero comics in the Top 100 in October 2023. Numbers were up from two years ago, as Oni Press had zero comics in the Top 100 in October 2022.

The Joshua Williamson Award For The Writer With The Most Titles In The Top 50

One writer had two comics in the Top 50 from the same title. That would be Zeb Wells with Amazing Spider-Man #59 at the number 9 spot and Amazing Spider-Man #60 at the number 16 spot.

Six writers had two comics from different titles in the Top 50.

Scott Snyder had two comics, Absolute Batman #1 at the number 1 spot and DC All-In Special #1 at the number 10 spot.

Joshua Williamson had two comics with DC All-In Special #1 at the number 10 spot and Superman #19 at the number 24 spot

Kelly Thompson had two comics with Absolute Wonder Woman #1 at the number 2 spot and Scarlett #5 at the number 25 spot.

Tom Taylor had two comics, Detective Comics #1090 at the number 20 spot and Nightwing #118 at the number 28 spot.

Declan Shalvey had two comics with Terminator #1 at the number 22 spot and Mystique #1 at the number 26 spot.

Dan Watters had two comics with Nightwing #119 at the number 30 spot and Destro #5 at the number 33 spot.

Two writers managed to pull off three comics in the Top 50.

Jonathan Hickman had three comics, Ultimate Spider-Man #10 at the number 3 spot, Wolverine Revenge – Red Band #3 at the number 34 spot, and Ultimate Spider-Man #9 at the number 49 spot.

Mark Waid had three comics with Batman and Robin Year One #1 at the number 14 spot, Action Comics #1070 at the number 35 spot, and Batman Superman World’s Finest #32 at the number 48 spot

However, one writer ruled the Top 50 above all else with a whopping four comics in the Top 50. That would be Jed Mackay with X-Men #6 at the number 11 spot, Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #1 at the number 12 spot, Avengers #19 at the number 40 spot, and X-Men #5 at the number 42 spot.

Therefore, the winner of the Joshua Williamson Award for October 2024 is…Jed MacKay! This is becoming an old hat for Mr. MacKay!

Battle of the Franchises

The X-Men franchise took first place with two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and twelve comics in the Top 50.

The Batman franchise took second place with one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50.

The Spider-Man franchise took third place with two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50.

The Hasbro franchise took fourth place with one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Big Events

Venom War

41 Venom #38 (Venom War)

79 Venom War: Wolverine #2 (Venom War)

89 Venom War: Deadpool #2 (Venom War)

91 Venom War #3 (Venom War) (Resolicitation)

94 Venom War: Venomous #3 (Venom War)

121 Venom War: Lethal Protectors #2 (Venom War)

122 Venom War: Carnage #3 (Venom War)

150 Venom War: Fantastic Four #1 (Venom War)

164 Venom War: Zombiotes #3 (Venom War)

184 Venom War: Spider-Man #3 (Venom War) (Resolicitation)

Venom War had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was worse than September 2024 when Venom War had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Venom War: Wolverine #2 fell from the number 55 spot to the number 79 spot. This three-issue limited series is going to struggle to conclude in the Top 100.

Venom War: Deadpool #2 ticked down from the number 88 spot to the number 89 spot. This three-issue limited series had a brutal debut, but what was impressive is that there was no drop in sales for the second issue. This title might be able to conclude in the Top 100.

Venom War: Venomous #3 climbed from the number 132 spot to the number 94 spot. With this issue, this mini-series concludes. Erica Schultz delivered a sales failure with this mini-series.

Venom War: Lethal Protectors #2 climbed from the number 150 spot to the number 121 spot. This three-issue mini-series is a lock to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category. Hollywood screenwriter Sabir Prizada continues to have no sales success with his comics.

Venom War: Carnage #3 ticked up from the number 132 spot to the number 122 spot. This three-issue mini-series is certainly going to finish in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Venom War: Fantastic Four #1 had a brutal debut coming in at the number 150 spot. Very few people were interested in checking out Adam Warren’s story in this title.

Venom War: Zombiotes #3 ticked up from the number 180 spot to the number 164 spot. This four-issue mini-series from Cavan Scott has been in the Dead Titles Walking category with each issue. That should remain the same for the final issue next month.

All of the Venom War tie-in mini-series have been epic sales failures. The biggest reason is the poor selection of writers that Marvel Comics rolled out for these titles.

Conquest 2099

93 Conquest 2099 #1

140 Conquest 2099 #2

Conquest 2099 had zero comics in the Top 50.

Conquest #1 had a brutal debut coming in at the number 93 spot. Conquest 2099 #2 then fell from the number 93 spot to the number 140 spot. This five-issue mini-series is dead on arrival. Steve Orlando failed to get anyone excited about this story. I had a feeling this would happen. Orlando never has any sales success and his stories can be too cringe-fueled at times.

Hasbro Franchise

5 Transformers #13

25 Scarlett #5 (Of 5)

33 Destro #5 (Of 5)

37 Void Rivals #13

154 Transformers #12 (Resolicitation)

The Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was better than September 2024, when the Hasbro franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Transformers #13 ticked up from the number 11 spot to the number 5 spot. Thus ends Transformers’ one-month stint outside of the Top 10. We all knew that Transformers was going to get back into the Top 10 after sustaining that initial onslaught of new X-Men titles flooding the market.

Scarlett #5 ticked up from the number 26 spot to the number 25 spot. With this final issue, Scarlett managed to sneak back into the Top 25 for a solid final sales ranking for this mini-series. Image Comics seems to be able to do no wrong with their GI Joe mini-series so far.

Destro #5 ticked up from the number 37 spot to the number 33 spot. This brings this five-issue mini-series to a conclusion. Once again, Image Comics enjoyed another sales success with a GI Joe title. The GI Joe franchise does not show any signs of cooling off anytime soon.

Void Rivals #13 climbed from the number 67 spot to the number 37 spot. This was a great rebound for this title. We normally see Void Rivals in the 30-40 range in the sales rankings. So, normalcy has returned.

Spawn Franchise

81 Gunslinger Spawn #36

105 Spawn Scorched #34

112 Spawn Violator #2 (Of 6)

117 Spawn #358

141 Spawn Rat City #7

144 Spawn #357 (Resolicitation)

165 Spawn Sam and Twitch Case Files #7

174 King Spawn #38 (Resolicitation)

185 Spawn Kills Every Spawn #4 (Of 5)

The Spawn franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was the same as in September 2024, when the Spawn franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.

Gunslinger Spawn #36 shot up from the number 108 spot to the number 81 spot. This title returns to where we normally find this title in the sales rankings.

Spawn Scorched #34 rocketed from the number 165 spot to the number 105 spot. So close to getting back into the Top 100! Spawn Scorched remains my favorite Spawn title.

Spawn Violator #2 fell from the number 85 spot to the number 112 spot. This drop for this six-issue mini-series was expected given the poor debut number.

Spawn #358 shot up from the number 188 spot to the number 117 spot. This title is still selling lower than a few issues ago when it was at the number 70 spot.

Spawn Rat City #7 climbed from the number 192 spot to the number 141 spot. This title remains doomed to dwell in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Spawn Sam and Twitch Case Files #7 climbed from being unranked to the number 165 spot. This title continues to see zero sales success.

Spawn Kills Every Spawn #4 climbed from being unranked to the number 185 spot. This five-issue mini-series has been a total sales dud.

Ghost Machine Titles

50 Rook Exodus #6

51 Geiger #7

113 Redcoat #7

188 Redcoat #6 (Resolicitation)

Ghost Machine had one comic in the Top 50. This was the same as in September 2024, when Ghost Machine had one comic in the Top 50.

Rook Exodus #6 dipped from the number 45 spot to the number 50 spot. This title continues to clock in around the number 40-50 spot.

Geiger #7 climbed from the number 67 spot to the number 51 spot. This is about where we expect to see this title.

Redcoat #7 shot up from the number 142 spot to the number 113 spot. It will be interesting to see if this title can get back to the Top 100 where it had been prior to last month.

All in all, Geoff Johns should be quite happy with the sales success of his new imprint. Outside of the Hasbro license, the Ghost Machine titles are the best-selling comics from Image Comics.

Star Wars Franchise

70 Star Wars: Ewoks #1 (Marvel Comics)

76 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #2 Insurgency Rising (Marvel Comics)

99 Star Wars: Ahsoka #4 (Marvel Comics)

131 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #1 Insurgency Rising (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

143 Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #3 (Marvel Comics)

196 Star Wars: Inquisitors #4 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #1 (Dark Horse Comics)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Echoes of Fear #2 (Dark Horse Comics)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Saber for Hire #4 (Dark Horse Comics)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #11 (Dark Horse Comics)

The Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was worse than in September 2024, when the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were down dramatically from two years ago as the Star Wars franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Star Wars: Ewoks #1 had a terrible debut coming in at the number 70 spot. Once again, Steve Orlando fails to find sales success. I had no confidence in this four-issue mini-series. I am unsure why anyone with half a brain would think that Orlando was a good match to write a Star Wars title. But, here we are. I would expect this title to drop out of the Top 100 quickly.

Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #2 Insurgency Rising climbed from the number 149 spot to the number 76 spot. This was a nice rebound for this four-issue mini-series. However, Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku #3 promptly fell from the number 76 spot to the number 143 spot. It is still going to be a struggle for this four-issue mini-series to conclude in the Top 100.

Star Wars: Ahsoka #4 climbed from the number 178 spot to the number 99 spot. Thus ends this title’s two-month stint in the Dead Titles Walking category by just barely being able to sneak back into the Top 100. I still have little faith in this eight-issue mini-series and expect to see it back in the Dead Titles Walking category next month,

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #1 had a disastrous debut as it failed to make the Top 200 and went unranked.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Echoes of Fear #2 was unranked for the second straight month. Daniel José Older continues to fail in spectacular fashion with his attempts to write comic books.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Saber for Hire #4 was unranked for the fourth straight month. This was another brutal sales failure from Cavan Scott.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #11 was unranked once again. Fans continue to have no interest in whatever Daniel José Older has to offer.

The Star Wars: The High Republic initiative has been a massive embarrassing failure for the Lucasfilm Story Group. It does not matter if it is Dark Horse Comics or Marvel Comics who rolls out a High Republic comic. None of them succeed. But, to consistently be unranked is a failure at a spectacular level.

Everything just keeps getting worse for the Star Wars franchise. Disney has made a complete mess with this once-powerful franchise. I am unsure where Disney goes from here. The Lucasfilm story group has had nothing but one massive failure after the next. I have no confidence in Disney/Lucasfilm getting their act straight and making Star Wars a sales monster once again.

Spider-Man Franchise

3 Ultimate Spider-Man #10

9 Amazing Spider-Man #59

16 Amazing Spider-Man #60

21 Spider-Boy #12

38 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25

41 Venom #38 (Venom War)

The Spider-Man franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50. This was better than September 2024 when the Spider-Man franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up as the Spider-Man franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were down from two years ago as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Let’s start with the main main himself: Peter Parker.

Amazing Spider-Man #59 took the number 9 spot and Amazing Spider-Man #60 took the number 16 spot. This was better than last month when the two issues of Amazing Spider-Man took the number 12 and 19 spots.

Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood #3 climbed from the number 64 spot to the number 45 spot. This was a nice rebound for this four-issue mini-series. It will be fascinating to see if this title can conclude in the Top 50 next month.

Spider-Man Reign 2 #4 climbed from the number 92 spot to the number 67 spot. With this issue, this four-issue mini-series concludes. This was an average-selling mini-series for Marvel Comics.

Spectacular Spider-Men #8 ticked up from the number 63 spot to the number 54 spot. This is the second consecutive issue that this title has sold outside of the Top 50.

Let’s now check out the knock-off Spider-Men.

Spider-Boy #12 rocketed up from the number 77 spot to the number 21 spot. What led to this massive sales spike? A guest appearance by Daredevil. Wow. I did not expect old hornhead to deliver such a sales spike.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25 popped up from the number 61 spot to the number 38 spot. What led this this unusual sales spike? It appears that the guest appearance by Black Panther helped drive readers to this issue.

Spider-Society #3 took the number 104 spot which is the exact same spot in the sales rankings it had last month. Well, it’s a bad sales ranking, but at least the title gets points for impressive consistency!

Chasm: Curse of Kaine #3 climbed from the number 198 spot to the number 167 spot. This four-issue mini-series is going to conclude well in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Let’s wrap things up with the Venomverse.

Venom #38 fell from the number 31 spot to the number 41 spot. The Venom War event has failed to generate increased readership for this title.

191 Exceptional X-Men #1 (Resolicitation)

The X-Men franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and twelve comics in the Top 50. This was worse than in September 2024, when the X-Men franchise had five comics in the Top 10, ten comics in the Top 25, and thirteen comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up as the X-Men franchise had two comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the X-Men franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Let’s start with the team titles.

Uncanny X-Men #4 ticked up from the number 8 spot to the number 4 spot. This is so impressive. Uncanny X-Men continues to be the most valuable brand name in comics. I am convinced that Marvel Comics could hire one of my pugs to write Uncanny X-Men and the power of this brand would continue to generate Top 10 success.

X-Men #6 ticked up from the number 17 spot to the number 11 spot. Marvel Comics just missed out on placing two X-Men team titles in the Top 10. Insane.

Exceptional X-Men #2 fell from the number 4 spot to the number 13 spot. I fully expect to see this title continue to slide down the sales rankings.

X-Force #4 climbed from the number 51 spot to the number 32 spot. This is phenomenal. X-Force #1 debuted at the number 10 spot and then suffered a massive drop as X-Force #2 fell to the number 50 spot. However, X-Force #3 arrested that fall by taking the number 51 spot. And now we have X-Force #4 climbing back up in the rankings. This is very rare to see in a new comic.

Normally, once there is a big sales drop the title either slowly descends and finds its happy place in the rankings or the title continues to crash and burn in the sales rankings. But, to see a title suddenly stop its descent after just one issue and then begin climbing back up in the rankings with just the fourth issue. Wow. Very impressive indeed. Congrats to Geoffrey Thorne. Thorne might be on his way to his first sales success in comics.

Sentinels #1 had a pedestrian debut taking the number 39 spot. I am not confident that this five-issue limited series will have any sales success. Alex Paknadel is the writer and he has never had any sales success.

X-Factor #3 dipped from the number 41 spot to the number 43 spot. This is a positive sign that this title’s fall in the rankings slowed significantly this month. The next few months will be critical in determining the long-term success of this title.

NYX #4 dropped from the number 52 spot to the number 75 spot. No surprise here. I expect this Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly title to fall out of the Top 100 in the next few months.

Let’s hop over to the bad boys of the X-Men franchise.

Wolverine #2 ticked down from the number 1 spot to the number 6 spot. Things are looking wonderful for this new title.

Wolverine Revenge – Red Band #3 fell from the number 22 spot to the number 34 spot. This five-issue mini-series is doing well and has an excellent chance of concluding in the Top 50.

Wolverine: Revenge #3 fell from the number 57 spot to the number 66 spot. The Red Band version of this title is performing at a much higher rate.

Deadpool Team-Up #3 dropped from the number 127 spot to the number 130 spot. This five-issue mini-series continues to underperform.

Mystique #1 had a solid but not impressive debut taking the number 26 spot. Failing to make the Top 25 with the debut issue indicates that this five-issue mini-series will drop out of the Top 50 in the next month or two.

Phoenix #4 climbed from the number 59 spot to the number 44 spot. I am not expecting this title to remain in the Top 50 next month.

Dazzler #2 plummeted from the number 15 spot to the number 65 spot. Ouch. It looks like Jason Loo was unable to convince many readers to stick around for the second issue. Having said that, this four-issue mini-series has a chance of concluding in the Top 100.

Avengers Franchise

7 Ultimates #5

8 Iron Man #1

40 Avengers #19

47 Incredible Hulk #18

83 Avengers Assemble #2

85 Scarlet Witch #5

100 Captain America #14

107 Predator vs. Black Panther #3

109 Ultimate Black Panther #9 (Resolicitation)

111 Aliens Vs. Avengers #1 (Resolicitation)

133 Immortal Thor #16 (Resolicitation)

170 Ultimates #4 (Resolicitation)

The Avengers franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was worse than in September 2024, when the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down as the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Let’s start with the team titles.

Avengers #19 fell from the number 27 spot to the number 40 spot. This is the second straight month this title has dropped in the sales rankings.

Avengers Assemble #2 fell from the number 49 spot to the number 83 spot. This was expected given the bad debut number for this title. I was never bullish on this five-issue mini-series since it is penned by Steve Orlando who has never had any sales success.

Let’s check out the men of the Avengers franchise.

Iron Man #1 had a monster debut taking the number 8 spot. This is impressive. This issue was boosted by six open order covers, two incentive covers, and two retailer-exclusive covers. This is a fantastic debut, but I am not confident in this title going forward. Spencer Ackerman is a journalist who has written for The New Republic, Wired, The Guardian, and the Daily Beast.

I fail to see how a journalist is the best selection as the writer for a mainstream superhero comic book. Maybe Marvel Comics knows something I don’t. But, this hire is a page from Marvel Comics’ playbook that usually blows up in its face.

Incredible Hulk #18 fell from the number 39 spot to the number 47 spot. This is the fourth consecutive drop in the rankings for this title.

Captain America #14 ticked up from the number 101 spot to the number 100 spot. Marvel Comics has already announced that JMS’s Captain America will be canceled with the number 16 spot. The decision to have JMS write Captain America was a bad idea from the very start.

Predator vs. Black Panther #3 dropped from the number 76 spot to the number 107 spot. This four-issue mini-series has crashed and burned in the sales rankings after posting a debut at the number 21 spot. I would expect this title to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Let’s wrap up with the sole lady of the Avengers franchise.

Scarlet Witch #5 climbed from the number 105 spot to the number 85 spot. This is the same place in the rankings that Scarlet Witch #3 scored in August 2024. Steve Orlando continues to struggle to get readers interested in this title.

Fantastic Four Franchise

36 Fantastic Four #26

150 Venom War: Fantastic Four #1 (Venom War)

178 Namor #4

The Fantastic Four franchise had one comic in the Top 50. This was the same as in September 2024, when the Fantastic Four franchise had one comic in the Top 50.

Fantastic Four #26 ticked down from the number 32 spot to the number 36 spot. This title continues to be a lock for the Top 50.

Namor #4 climbed from being unranked to taking the number 178 spot. This is still a horrendous ranking for such a new title with a “big name” writer in Jason Aaron. The sins of Aaron’s Punisher continue to haunt Aaron and Marvel Comics.

The Ultimate Universe

3 Ultimate Spider-Man #10

7 Ultimates #5

29 Ultimate X-Men #8

49 Ultimate Spider-Man #9 (Resolicitation)

109 Ultimate Black Panther #9 (Resolicitation)

170 Ultimates #4 (Resolicitation)

190 Ultimate X-Men #7 (Resolicitation)

The Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was the same in the Top 10, down in the Top 25, and the same in the Top 50 as in September 2024 when the Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Ultimate Spider-Man #10 ticked up from the number 5 spot to the number 3 spot. Jonathan Hickman’s title continues to be the best-selling Marvel Comics title. This is not changing anytime soon.

Ultimates #5 ticked down from the number 5 spot to the number 7 spot. Readers love this title! I did not expect a new Ultimates title to be a consistent Top 10 title across its first five issues. Impressive indeed.

Ultimate X-Men #8 fell from the number 14 spot to the number 29 spot. This is the lowest sales ranking that Ultimate X-Men has had to date. I am not counting this title out given its past sales success. I would not be surprised to see Ultimate X-Men rebound back into the Top 25.

Unranked: Penguin Special #1

The Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and nine comics in the Top 50. This was better than September 2024, when the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10, down in the Top 50, but up in the Top 50 as the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were down from two years ago as the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Let’s start with the most popular man in the DCU: Bruce Wayne.

Batman and Robin Year One #1 had a nice debut taking the number 14 spot. Mark Waid is the writer of this twelve-issue mini-series. Hopefully, Waid has several issues in the can for this title since he says that he cannot write superhero comic books anymore due to the presidential election. Just when you thought crazy old man Waid couldn’t get any crazier…

Batman Full Moon #1 had a good debut taking the number 17 spot. This four-issue mini-series is written by Hollywood writer Rodney Barnes who has never had any sales success. That makes me less bullish about the success of this title. But, we shall see!

Detective Comics #1090 shot up from the number 65 spot to the number 20 spot. Wow. DC Comics’ All In initiative is delivering wholesale changes at the writer spot for several titles. Replacing Ram V with Tom Taylor in the writer position led to a massive sales spike. We have not seen Detective Comics this high in the rankings in forever.

Batman the Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #2 dipped from the number 16 spot to the number 23 spot. This ten-issue mini-series should be able to be a consistent Top 50 seller.

Batman Superman World’s Finest #32 fell from the number 41 spot to the number 48 spot. This consistent Top 50 seller keeps chugging along at a dependable pace.

Batman and Robin #14 shot up from the number 103 spot to the number 57 spot. As a part of the All In initiative, Phillip Kennedy Johnson is the new writer for this title. This has led to a nice sales bump. Batman and Robin had been a consistent Top 75 seller until June 2024. We shall see if it can return to form or not.

Batman Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age #5 ticked up from the number 69 spot to the number 58 spot. This six-issue mini-series is going to struggle to conclude next month in the Top 50.

Dark Knights of Steel Allwinter #4 climbed from the number 107 spot to the number 98 spot. This six-issue mini-series is going to struggle to stay in the Top 100.

Batman the Brave and the Bold #18 climbed from being unranked to taking the number 168 spot. This anthology title remains a sales dud.

Let’s check out the single bat-boy title.

Nightwing #118 climbed from the number 37 spot to the number 28 spot. This was Tom Taylor’s final issue on this title. Nightwing #119 ticked down from the number 28 spot to the number 30 spot. As a part of the All In initiative, Dan Watters takes over as the writer of this title. This All In writer switch did not lead to a sales bump unlike the other Batman franchise titles experienced.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Batman franchise.

Catwoman #69 rocketed up from the number 116 spot to the number 73 spot. This is Torunn Grønbekk’s first issue. The All In initiative had Tini Howard being replaced by Grønbekk. This is easily the highest in the sales rankings that we have seen Catwoman in forever.

I am not that bullish on Grønbekk who has regularly posted average sales numbers during her career. Having said that, I do think Grønbekk is much better than Tini Howard. So, we shall see. Catwoman deserves some success after Howard’s humiliating run.

Poison Ivy Swamp Thing Feral Trees #1 debuted at the number 88 spot. This is a disappointing debut for this one-shot issue. G. Willow Wilson has continued to see dwindling success with this franchise.

Harley Quinn #44 rocketed up from the number 182 spot to the number 101 spot. As a part of the All In initiative, DC Comics replaced Tini Howard with Elliott Kalan as the writer of Harley Quinn. On the positive side, Kalan saw a huge sales boost with his first issue on Harley Quinn. On the downside, even with this sales boost, Harley Quinn #44 was still a Dead Title Walking.

I am not that bullish on Kalan’s Harley Quinn. Kalan is a stand-up comedian who was the head writer for The Daily Show with John Stewart. Kalan currently co-hosts the podcast The Flop House. I am unsure how any of this makes Kalan qualified to write a mainstream superhero comic book. Having said that, anyone would be a serious upgrade over Tini Howard. So, maybe Kalan will be a surprise hit.

Superman Franchise

24 Superman #19

35 Action Comics #1070

48 Batman Superman World’s Finest #32

61 Action Comics #1071

64 Action Comics #1072

97 Action Comics #1073

124 Power Girl #14

The Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was better than September 2024 when the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25, but up in the Top 50 as the Superman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Superman #19 ticked up from the number 28 spot to the number 24 spot. Superman returns to the Top 25 after a two-month absence. That is positive news.

For some reason, DC Comics thought it would be a cool idea to flood October 2024 with four issues of Action Comics as a part of the All In initiative. The main stories for these issues were from Mark Waid. The backup stories were from Mariko Tamaki. The only thing that got me excited was that Mon-El appears in the backup stories!

Action Comics #1070 shot up from the number 75 spot to the number 35 spot. Action Comics #1071 fell from the number 35 spot to the number 61 spot. Action Comics #1072 ticked down from the number 61 spot to the number 64 spot. Action Comics #1073 dropped from the number 64 spot to the number 97 spot.

Action Comics is simply not a title that can support four issues a month. To be fair, most titles cannot support four issues a month. I am interested to see where Action Comics settles into the sales rankings once it reverts to a regular one-issue-a-month schedule.

Good news! As a part of the All In initiative, DC Comics has replaced Leah Williams as writer with…Leah Williams. Ummmm…okay. Power Girl #14 went from unranked and climbed to the number 124 spot. Power Girl has been in the Dead Titles Walking category every month since Power Girl #2 when it took the number 116 spot!

Williams has never had any sales success and has been a spectacular failure on Power Girl. It makes no sense that DC Comics did not replace Williams with a new writer as a part of the All In initiative like they did so many other titles. It is moves like this that make me continually question the intelligence of DC Comics’ editorial staff. Poor Power Girl deserves so much better than this.

Justice League Franchise

2 Absolute Wonder Woman #1

10 DC All-In Special #1 (One-Shot) (Resolicitation)

19 Wonder Woman #14

52 Zatanna Bring Down the House #5 (Of 5)

53 Green Lantern Civil Corps Special #1 (One-Shot)

55 Green Lantern #16

56 Green Lantern Dark #1 (Of 7)

72 Green Arrow #17

87 Flash #14

176 Justice Society of America #12 (Of 12) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Wonder Woman Uncovered #1

The Justice League franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was better than September 2024, when the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up in the Top 10 and Top 25 and flat in the Top 50 as the Justice League franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and zero comics in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Let’s start with the boys of the Justice League franchise.

Green Lantern Civil Corps Special #1 had an average debut taking the number 53 spot. This one-shot issue was released under the All-In banner and did not generate much more interest than the regular Green Lantern title.

Green Lantern #16 ticked up from the number 57 spot to the number 55 spot. It looks like the All-In banner slapped onto the cover of this title did little to increase reader interest.

Green Lantern Dark #1 had an unimpressive debut taking the number 56 spot. This seven-issue Elseworlds mini-series will struggle to conclude in the Top 100. Tate Brombal is the writer and I have never heard of the guy. So, I have no feeling one way or the other about how Brombal might perform in the sales charts.

Green Arrow #17 rocketed up from the number 134 spot to the number 72 spot. The All-In initiative did not make any changes to this title as Joshua Williamson is still the writer. We shall see if the new readers that the All-In banner on the cover pulled in decide to stick around next month or not.

Flash #14 shot up from the number 126 spot to the number 87 spot. The All-In initiative swapped Simon Spurrier as the writer for…Simon Spurrier. Welp. That is disappointing. The Flash has continually underperformed in the sales rankings under Spurrier’s hand. It would have been nice to see DC Comics pull the trigger on a new writer to revive this title. There is no reason why The Flash should not be a consistent Top 50 title.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Justice League franchise.

Wonder Woman #14 ticked up from the number 23 spot to the number 19 spot. Tom King continues to make this title a lock for the Top 25 every month.

Zatanna Bring Down the House #5 fell from the number 43 spot to the number 52 spot. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series concludes. While Zatanna Bring Down the House failed to conclude in the Top 50, this mini-series performed much better than I anticipated by averaging the number 40 spot in the sales rankings. DC Comics will gladly take that result.

The Absolute Universe

1 Absolute Batman #1

2 Absolute Wonder Woman #1

10 DC All-In Special #1 (One-Shot) (Resolicitation)

The Absolute Universe had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Absolute Batman #1 destroyed all competitors on its way to taking the number 1 spot in the sales rankings. This issue was supported by seven open order covers, eight reprint covers, a mind-numbing twenty-five retailer exclusive covers, and one event exclusive cover.

This is Bruce Wayne + Scott Snyder + a #1 issue. Did you really think that equation was going to equal anything less than the number 1 spot in the sales rankings? I fully expect Absolute Batman to continue to be a sales monster and provide Ultimate Spider-Man with its only real credible competition every month.

Absolute Wonder Woman #1 had an excellent debut taking the number 2 spot. This issue was bolstered by six open order covers, four reprint covers, three incentive covers, and an eye-watering ten retailer exclusive covers. My favorite cover was Dan Panosian’s variant cover.

Kelly Thompson is the writer of this title and she has never had any sustained sales success until her Scarlett mini-series that just concluded. We shall see if Thompson can string together a couple of back-to-back wins for the first time in her career.

Tom King has made Wonder Woman popular again and there is huge fan interest in the Absolute Universe. So, I am not going to bet against Absolute Wonder Woman at this point.

This is an amazing start for the Absolute Universe. DC Comics has to be beyond thrilled the the success of these two new Absolute Universe titles. Perhaps DC Comics has something to battle Marvel Comics’ white-hot Ultimate Universe titles. This is going to be interesting to watch!

Supernatural Comics

12 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #1 (Marvel Comics)

18 Blade: Red Band #1 (Marvel Comics)

52 Zatanna Bring Down the House #5 (Of 5) (DC Comics)

62 DC Horror Presents #1 (Of 3) (DC Comics)

68 DC vs Vampires World War V #3 (Of 12) (DC Comics)

69 Crypt of Shadows #1 (Marvel Comics)

77 Werewolf by Night Red Band #3 (Marvel Comics)

88 Poison Ivy Swamp Thing Feral Trees #1 (One-Shot) (DC Comics)

96 Phases of the Moon Knight #3 (Marvel Comics)

118 Spirits of Vengeance #2 (Marvel Comics)

126 Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay #2 (Marvel Comics)

128 John Constantine, Hellblazer Dead in America #10 (Of 11) (DC Comics)

142 Blood Hunters #3 (Marvel Comics)

156 Ghost Rider: Robbie Reyes Special #1 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

164 Venom War: Zombiotes #3 (Venom War) (Marvel Comics)

Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in the Top 50 by a score of 2-0. Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in the Top 100 by a score of 5-4 in the Top 100.

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #1 had a great debut taking the number 12 spot. This issue was bolstered by five open-order covers, two reprint covers, two incentive covers, and two retailer-exclusive covers. Jed Mackay just keeps winning with the Moon Knight franchise.

Phases of the Moon Knight #3 held steady at the number 96 spot which is the same pace in the sales rankings this title had in September 2024. This is still a bad sales ranking, but the silver lining is that this four-issue mini-series did not drop further.

Blade: Red Band #1 had a nice debut taking the number 18 spot. This title is written by Bryan Hill who has struggled to have sales success on all of his titles outside of Ultimate Black Panther. Blade is popular so we shall see if Hill can have his second hit title with Blade.

Crypt of Shadows #1 had a bad debut taking the number 69 spot. This one-shot issue did not attract a ton of reader interest.

Werewolf by Night Red Band #3 shot up from the number 114 spot to the number 77 spot. This was a nice rebound for this young title. Having said that, Jason Loo has never had any sales success so I am not confident that this title is going to be able to remain in the Top 100 on a monthly basis.

Spirits of Vengeance #2 plummeted from the number 42 spot to the number 118 spot. With just the second issue, Spirits of Vengeance is already a dead title walking. I anticipated this huge drop in the sales rankings. Marvel Comics hired Hollywood writer Sabir Pirzada for this title and he has never had any sales success in comics and that trend continues here. Marvel Comics’ obsession with hiring Hollywood talent to write mainstream superhero comics continues to blow up in its face.

Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay #2 fell from the number 115 spot to the number 126 spot. This four-issue mini-series is doomed to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Blood Hunters #3 climbed from the number 168 spot to the number 142 spot. This title is another sales dud from Erica Schultz. This five-issue mini-series will remain exiled to the Dead Titles Walking category until its conclusion.

DC Horror Presents #1 had a poor debut taking the number 62 spot. This three-issue mini-series is going to have a tough time remaining in the Top 100.

DC vs Vampires World War V #3 climbed from the number 99 spot to the number 68 spot. This is a positive sign for this twelve-issue mini-series. I am still not bullish on this title and think it will sink into the Dead Titles Walking category in the next few months.

John Constantine, Hellblazer Dead in America #10 climbed from the number 151 spot to the number 128 spot. This eleven-issue limited series will conclude next month in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Mantle Swap Comics

38 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25 (Marvel Comics)

78 Deadpool #7 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

96 Phases of the Moon Knight #3 (Marvel Comics)

129 Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #4 (Marvel Comics)

156 Ghost Rider: Robbie Reyes Special #1 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

There were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was better than September 2024 when there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and zero comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as there was one mantle swap comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25 and flat in the Top 50 from two years ago as there was one mantle swap comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2022.

Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #4 climbed from the number 189 spot to the number 129 spot. This concludes this four-issue mini-series. This mini-series from Erica Schultz was a complete sales failure as it fell into the Dead Titles Walking category with just the second issue. Only Marvel Comics’ editors find stripping Elektra of her own unique identity a good idea.

Legacy Character Comics

21 Spider-Boy #12 (Marvel Comics)

Year-over-year numbers were up, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in October 2023.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in October 2022.

Titans #16 shot up from the number 110 spot to the number 59 spot. The All-In initiative slotted a new writer on this title in John Layman. This change in writer does nothing for me. Layman is not who I would have ever thought to pair with the Titans. Having said that, we shall see how this creative team shakeup does for the title. Titans is a franchise that is underperforming for DC Comics.

Marvel Comics won the fight in this category by a score of 7-5. The number of Top 100 female lead comics is directly tied to how many new titles have been released. Most female lead comics post big debut numbers and then slide down the rankings until they are out of the Top 100 by the seventh or so issue.

The only exception to this rule is Wonder Woman. Tom King’s Wonder Woman is the only female lead comic that has been able to have sustained Top 25 success over a long period.

Jenny Sparks #3 climbed from the number 163 spot to the number 127 spot. Tom King continues to struggle to attract readers to this title. This six-issue mini-series is a lock to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Marvel Comics won this pillow fight by a score of 3-0. Marvel Comics wins this category every month, but not because they are doing anything impressive. Because they are not. Marvel Comics is simply winning by default since DC Comics seems uninterested in competing in this category.
