To keep up its momentum from its debut writer Melissa Flores and artist Michael YG are bringing even bigger ideas for Power Rangers Prime #2. This target is hinted at in the solicitation for the second issue. That has been expanded on now as BOOM! Studios has provided us with a preview of Power Rangers #2 to share ahead of its December 18th release date.
Power Rangers Prime #1 showed us a world where Eltarians have taken over Earth and installed their government to turn the planet into a refugee hub for the universe. Part of their execution in taking control of Earth was eliminating all of the Power Rangers and having the VR Troopers in their place. The only surviving Power Ranger we see in the first issue is Lauren Shiba, the Red Samurai Ranger.
Things only got more complicated at the end of the issue as Rita Repulsa made her entrance into the Power Rangers Prime continuity. As you’ll see in the preview, the second issue appears to confirm that the characters of this universe aren’t aware of the Multiverse. That is indicated by Rita Repulsa herself as even with her apparent connection to the Morphin Grid she is not aware of what is going on. The mysterious held by this new universe is teased to be further explored in the solicitation:
