Preview: Transformers #19 Answering “What Happened To Megatron?”

Transformers #18 was a monumental comic book for the Energon Universe for many reasons. The biggest of them all is a massive spoiler that Skybound and Image Comics has now provided us a first look at the follow up in Transformers #19 to share ahead of its April 9th release.

Now if you have not read Transformers #18 yet then you missed out on the major return. That return was none other than the former Decepticon leader and once prisoner of Cobra: Megatron.

That’s right, Transformers #19 will finally be providing us the answer as to why Megatron has been around. The absence of Megatron as the Decepticons leader has been felt in every issue of the series thus far. Even as the Decepticons have been able to overpower the Autobots the leadership of the villain group has been continuously question.

For this monumental issue series writer Daniel Warren Johnson will be joined by Battle Chasers’ artist Ludo Lullabi. Daniel Warren Johnson and series colorist Mike Spicer will also be handling the main cover for Transformers #19. They will be joined by an all-star cast of artists delivering variant covers that include Jorge Corona & Mike Spicer, David Nakayama, Steve Beach,  Frédéric Pham Chuong, and Ludo Lullabi & Adriano Lucas.

Check out the covers and three-page preview below:

Transformers #19 is scheduled to be released in comic book shops and digital storefronts on April 9, 2025. Learn more about the comic book from Skybound and Image Comics press release below.
