Ahead of its June release Skybound and Image Comics has provided us with a first look at Transformers #9 to share with everyone. The latest entry in writer Daniel Warren Johnson, artist Jorge Corona, and colorist Mike Spicer narrative is going to bring us even more surprises in the Energon Universe.

At the end of Transformers #8 we saw the debut of the Decepticon known as Shockwave. With Shockwave joining the Decepticons ranks it looks like the Autobots’ struggles against their enemy will only get worse. That is something teased in the solicitation for Transformers #9:

The wars on Cybertron and Earth converge in ways the Autobots and Decepticons never expected…

As previously announced, Transformers #9 will launch during the one year anniversary of the Energon Universe. To mark the occasion one of the variant covers for Transformers #9 will be part of a larger connected cover being done by Jason Howard and Annalisa Leoni.

The main cover for Transformers #9 will be handled by the series creative team of Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer. Additional variant covers will also be available by artists Karen S. Darboe, Jonathan Wayshak, David Baldeón, and Rex Lokus. You can check out these covers and a four-page preview below:
