GREEN ARROW #15

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer: Joshua Williamson

Artist: Amancay Nahueldpan

Colorist: Romulo Fajado Jr.

Letterer: Troy Peteri

It speaks to where the interest is in this Green Arrow run that it was the Arrow Family who are carrying Joshua Williamson’s final arc. While there is a lot of interest in what role Oliver Queen is playing in Absolute Power when it comes to the Green Arrow series Williamson has built his run around the family aspect. That is a credit to Williamson as the dynamic between Arsenal, Connor Hawke, Speedy, Red Arrow, Red Canary, and Arrowette’s against Task Force X. Bright worked well as the villain that set-up for what could be an important tie-in issue to Absolute Power.

Overall Rating: 7 Night Girls out of 10

SPIDER-GWEN: GHOST-SPIDER #4

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer: Stephanie Phillips

Artist: Paolo Villanelli

Colorist: Matt Milla

Letterer: Ariana Maher

Stephanie Phillips and Paolo Villanelli are really maximizing Spider-Gwen being the person out of time, though in this case it’s the Spider out of universe. Even though she’s known characters like Cindy Moon for years their dynamic is different because of the personal situation Gwen Stacy is in that she can’t talk about. Having to hide such a huge secret makes it understandable that it would change Gwen’s dynamic with her Spider family. Exploring that with how she interacts with the world around her now as a permanent member of Earth-616 adds to the villain plot she is dealing with.

Overall Rating: 7.5 Night Girls out of 10

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: BLACK, WHITE, & GREEN #4

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer: Lee Garbett, Chris Condon, Jeremy Holt, and Patrick Gleason

Artist: Lee Garbett, Carson Thorn, Sebastian Piriz, and Patrick Gleason

Letterer: Nathan Widick

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Black, White, & Green #4 solidified the must-read nature of this mini-series. The four stories in this final issue highlighted the variety of stories that can be told with this franchise. If you are a TMNT fan this is absolutely a must-read comic book. ULTIMATE X-MEN #6

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer and Artist: Peach Momoko

Script Adaptation: Zack Davidsson

Letterer: Travis Lanham

Judging Ultimate X-Men at this is really looking at it in two different ways. When it comes to the artwork Ultimate X-Men #6 continues the trend of this series one of the most visually stunning an imaginative series there are. Though when it comes to the Shadow King the ending for his story isn’t necessarily satisfying. Rather there is a relief that this series will be able to now move on to other things. That falls on the fact that by the time of this story arc finale Shadow King’s story felt like we were just spinning our wheels. Hopefully now the Ultimate X-Men cast can move on to other stuff that is done in shorter story arcs.

Overall Rating: 6.5 Night Girls out of 10

VOID RIVALS #12

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer: Robert Kirkman

Artist: Lorenzo De Felici

Colorist: Matheus Lopes

Letterer: Rus Wooton

Void Rivals #12 acts more as an epilogue chapter than a conclusion of a story arc. That comes dow to how the aftermath of the previous issue is handled. The focus isn’t completely Darak and Solila. Rather its on how the ending of the previous issue ends up impacting every character we’ve seen in Void Rivals thus far. It leads to one of the most varied issues of Void Rivals we’ve had does far. It leads to the events of this second story arc to feel even bigger and more important than the first arc. This creates greater excitement for what happens next with Darak and Solila to be even higher as we see major moves made that could impact the entire Energon Universe in Void Rivals third story arc.

Overall Rating: 8 Night Girls out of 10

X-MEN #3

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer: Jed MacKay

Artist: Ryan Stegman

Inker: JP Mayer and Livesay

Colorist: Marte Gracia

Letterer: Clayton Cowles

X-Men #3 delivers a lot strong developments, specifically for Cyclops and Temper. The one-shot style storytelling worked to build the credibility of this X-Men team. This approach of storytelling also once again emphasized the variety of threats the X-Men face in this new era. If you’re an X-Men fan this is one comic book to pick up. ZATANNA: BRING DOWN THE HOUSE #3

CREATIVE TEAM

Writer: Mariko Tamaki

Artist: Javier Rodriguez

Letterer: Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou

The world of magic is one of infinite possibilities. Anything can happen and the only limit is the creative team’s creativity. Luckily for us Mariko Tamaki and Javier Rodriguez go all out in showcasing the unlimited imagination with DC’s magic realm with Zatanna: Bring Down The House. Tamaki does enough to continue building the story and Zatanna’s character while leaving Rodriguez to what he does best with amazing artwork. The artwork in this series does so much to show how Zatanna handles dealing with such crazy events as she can’t avoid her destiny. It all further solidifies this as a can’t miss series from DC Comics

Overall Rating: 8.5 Night Girls out of 10
